It is unusually hot--but I cant remember it being actually cold either. Usually the really cold weather gets here in Jan or Feb. I remember the last big snowfall several years ago was at the end of April. It can be very strange weather wise in Alabama. I have been here all my life.

I have heard some good things about that school. My niece graduated from there about 4 years ago--she is in the NAVY now.
Hang in there sweetie! There are worse things than this temp. You could be up north where the ice storm is with no electricity. Also, it is going to turn cold this weekend I have heard.

Oh, yes, wonderful school. 'Course, since they're rebuilding it, most of my classes are in what amounts to a trailer park. *Sigh*
Unno about cold, but certainly stormy. Over here in Gardendale/Graysville, anywho. Hope it doesn't storm tommorow...My family and I are going to the mall. Here's hoping my Grandparents don't notice my meal has no meat on it.=D

Ah but the fun is that we're going from near record highs (75 in Dec) to a chance for snow flurries on Saturday night (at least here near the TN border). Great! Alabamians driving in snow. Wonderful. Just what you want.

I have lived here all my life. The reason they d0 that is because of a terrible snow several, several years ago--I think 1991--people were iced and snowed in for about a week. We werent prepared for anything like that cause it never happened before (at least not in my memory). Now people really overeact--I mean if it does snow-normally it would melt off before noon.

Oh, the winter storm was in '92. I remember because my mom always tells me storys about how hard it was to heat up my milk (I was born that october)
I WISH it would snow here. Hasn't in years...

i can understand if people are going to freak out over a storm and want to stock up on food- but why bread and milk? a few years ago when one of the hurricanes past through here, people were out buying water, which made sense to me. i just dont understand- it's always bread and milk.

I know what you are saying--I have wondered about the bread and milk myself. Im not really sure. I personally would want candy.

i tend to buy whatever foods i think will stick with me because i know i wont be able to cook much. PB/J is always good. then again, i guess i would need bread for that.

We wouldn't have to worry about a storm, in our pantry we have ten tons of canned vegetables (I usually go through a can or two every day for supper...I just like it better than raw). No idea what my Mom stocked them for. Maybe ragnorak?=P
And I'm all for stocking candy. You give me a large supply of toostie rolls, a chess board, and a flashlight, and I can outlast whatever natural disaster you'd care to throw at me.

Well--it doesnt look like we got to worry about snow right now anyway. Couple days of cold weather and now it is not so cold again. The thing about this kind of weather is that it usually makes me sick. I heard on the weather it may be raining at Christmas which sucks.
Chess---I used to play chess and loved it--it has been years since I played. I wonder if I could find it online anywhere. I mean to play like a computer - I would want to practice before I played a real person. I would probably get embarrassed.

Well, this IS Alabama. It's many things, but Vegetarian capital of the South, it ain't. (Are those contradicting terms?)
I live a bit north, Jefferson County.
