our gorgeous gorgeous cat..is being really wierd. he's normally cuddly and clingy but also likes time alone. but since about midday, he's been literally glued to me (it doesn't sound weird..but it is). not to people, even, just me. and not just in a cuddly way. he's staring at me really intensly. this sounds insane..but its now 11pm and he hasn't stopped and its sorta freaking me out?! where's this coming from? is he in desperate need of something?! why doesn't he go to other housemates for that though?! when i went to the bathroom he starting meowing so loudly he woke up another housemate. and instead of sitting on my feet (he's occasionally under the doona but doesn't seem to like it much) he's on my chest every time i lie down.
i hope he's ok?!
its probably just him being odd. its just..never happened quite like this. hard to describe. aaa he's staring at me right now. and normally you can stare him down..
 Freaking you out huh?
I wouldn't worry about it if it's only been going on for a few hours - maybe something upset him. If it turns out to be a more permanent behaviour change I would get advice from a vet, behaviour change can be a sign of sickness or injury.
I think it's awesomly funny when cats stare at you like that, or give you evil looks. I once knew a cat who fell off his chair while licking himself and we were laughing so hard that he went and sulked in the corner of the room with his back to us for an hour.

Is he still sticking to you?

ehehehe. fell off a chair. ehehehe. our cat sulks too. its not like he has no personality and now suddenly does! its more that he's people-like in so many ways, and one of them is that he loves company and stuff but sometimes just wants space. not to mention there are places in our house that he's scared of and will never follow you all the way to.
yes, he's still doing it. absaloutely glued, slept under my doona again . and when he wasn't sleeping he was crouched with his face over mine, i woke up twice with big cat eyes open looking at me ! and several times (couldn't sleep) with him sitting next to me just surveying the room but not budging.
it seems like a silly reason to go to the vet, but its stranger than you'd think. housemates commented also. "why is the cat guarding you all of a sudden?" "whats with him lately?"

Is anything going on with you? Maybe he's sensing something and he thinks you need the attention/comfort. His way of being sensitive to you. Just a thought.

aww thats such a lovely thought!! it does almost seem that way actually! except that there's nothing going on i dont think. everythings been stress free (til tonight but tonight's an irrational kind of stress that isn't half as serious as things used to be). hmm. but yeah, the more i watch him the more it seems that way. he's still doing it. a housemate came out to growl at me because i went to the bathroom and the cat was sitting at the door howling.
its weeeeeeeeeeeeird
