I have heard of this product a long time ago but was intimidated by it.. although from the reviews you all have given it I think I'll order one. I have been using organic cotton tampons.. but for some reason I never thought about how they're gooing up our landfils. I feel like such a dork.. I reuse all my plastic containers.. recycle cans paper & glass.. I even did away with paper towels and napkins for cloth ones.. why oh why didn't I think of my girly products??!!?

Here's the only listed Australian distributor. It may help (? -- at least they won't ask for US checks! :) And the price includes shipping on their form.):

I ordered the silicone option, Mooncup.( http://www.mooncup.co.uk ) I was nervous about the latex. (I have a slight allergy.) Also, ordered some lunapads as a back up ( http://www.lunapads.com). Like DirtDiva, I didn't give much thought to my girly products. So glad I read this thread and can help the environment further. :D

P.S. The Lunapad site sells The Keeper.

I'm in Australia too & spent $65.00 to get my keeper last month. All I have to say is go for it! I used to use 100% cotton tampons but was dismayed at the amount of waste I was creating every month! I've used my keeper for the last week & have nothing but good reviews for it. I used to use a diaphragm many moons ago for contraception purposes so my body was kinda used to the process I guess but even to the uninitiated I think it would be relatively easy to get used to. Just think how many tampons/pads/liners you go through each month multiplied by each year multiplied by the amount of years you can expect to be fertile....then multiply THAT by the female population of the world.....scary!
