So after doubling over in pain and thinking I was going to die I went to the Emergency room convinced that I was going to be told "you have gas" or "Your appendix is coming out"

Surprisingly they found that my two benign cysts on my ovaries had filled with blood and one had ruptured.

Also my intestines were swollen or some crap but I guess having a BM, Urinating, Eating, or Drinking or moving for that matter was what was causing pain.

Here are were my signs:
Constant dull ache in abdomin
Pain with intercourse
Pain with movement
Extreme pain while menstruating
Abdominal bloating or distention above normal (Apparently if you lie on your back and tap your tummy and it sounds hollow like a gourd...that is not good)
Nausea, vomiting
Fever
Dizziness or fainting

All but the fever were my symptoms and shortly after I got there I developed a fever.

These cysts are supposed to heal themselves but be prepared to spend two to three days on bed rest. For me even getting up to go to the bathroom required my husband to help me.

My doctor gave me lortabs, naproxen, and OTC tylenol for pain, and my husband found that Ice as oposed to heat helped with the pain for some weird reason. Also stay hydrated! I was so thirsty and I guess that is a side effect from morphiene (what they gave me in the hospital) but also while the body is healing it helps to move things along.

I hope no one ever has to experience this pain. I seriously thought dying would be a happier alternative to this.

Good luck! and have a healthy uterus!

 I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. It's a good thing you went to the ER. At least now you know what was causing the pain and symptoms.

Coincidentally I'm scheduled to have a pelvic ultrasound on Monday to follow up on a uterine polyp and an ovarian cyst (can't remember which ovary. left?). Plus, I'm scheduled for a physical later this month, so I get to find out what's going on inside pretty soon.

 I hope you're not still in pain.

Stress caused my cervical (benign) cysts back in 1999. However my doctor's said they had to be frozen off. I think they call it cryotherapy or something like that. I was very tender and sore from that for about 3 days.
This site says a coloscopy is not necessary, but I had to have one. This all happened to me during bootcamp in the military. Lots of stress and not much of a choice in my medical care.

Yeah I remember boot camp. The answer for everything was tylenol and water.

I feel better today. I found out that part of my left intestine was swollen and I had precursors to appendicitis but they were more concerned about the ovarian cysts.

Tired and bleeding today (exspected) but annoying non the less.

I had an ovarian cyst the size of a cantaloupe. I had no symptons. I just woke up in the middle of the night in the worst pain I have ever had. I went to the ER after a couple of hours. The cyst was twisting my ovary in half and cutting off the oxygen which was causing the pain. I had emergency surgery where at first they were trying to go through the navel but the cyst was too big ( the doctors were all impressed like it was something good, being the biggest cyst they had seen). It beat up my ovary so bad that they had to take it and they thought it was cancer. I still don't know how it was that big and I didn't feel anything.
