I'm trying to recycle what I can, feel bad about wasteful packing I throw out and when I look in the dumpsters, I find bags of clothing, full unsued cans of food, furniture, a whole bed taken apart with a matress, an ironing board, pots etc etc.

I picked out some useable stuff to sort through. There's much more but I'd be there all night looking into bags and I don't have space.
I found a good blanket and I know a cat rescue that can use all the blankets they can get for the kitties.

It's like people just enpty half of their household into the dumpster and it's happened before. And this is just the dumpster in our complex.

I could could just cry....why are other people so dam wasteful?.

It's just heartbreaking that all this stuff can't go where it is needed, instead of into the landfill.

I don't get it, there's a thrift store right down the road.
I'll be busy sorting out what I took later today and doing a trhift sotre haul because I don't have space for most of this stuff.

Wonder what I should do with the unopened meaty cans.

If you live in an apartment complex the waste may be from people who have moved. most landlords will just throw away what tenants leave behind when they move or get kicked out.

As far as the meaty cans go, the letter carriers around here are having a food drive on Sat May 13, you can ask you carrier about it. They will take them off your hands, it's for the Stamp out Hunger, we got a postcard in the mail today about it.

I was thinking of bringing them to a Christian soup kitchen around the corner from me but not sure if it's legit to donate food that's been in a dumpster.

I found an unopened jar of peanut butter I'm going to reserve for my mice, lifetime supply for them.
