Um.. Yea. Me too. Though, I am not ready to look for someone else yet, I do not know how to find someone who is veg, or how I could possible narrow who I see to only veg-ians. I asked something simalar to that recently in the thread I started about a veg future, if you wanna glance at people's responses in there. And more responses here or there are also welcome. :-/
p.s. i would prefer not using any type of personal or dating site just yet, but that is just me.

There are some veggie dating services I've seen banner ads for. If you are over 18, check out this thread:

veggiedate.com veggieconnection.com
veggiedate gives you a free month. and you can always respond for free... unlike most other sites that make you pay like $50 just to say hi >.<

Thanks. I am a little nervous about something like that. Do people from here do that often? How do they work? It just seems a little higher on the public scale than Life2k's thread right here. I am just a really shy person.

Veggiedate seems like the best option to me. Like Troub said, you can search and respond for free for the first month. A year membership is only $20. It's not that expensive. You never have to fully join unless you want to actually contact someone. In other words, sometimes the other person will make the first move and give you their email address when they contact you.

I've met 3 guys from Veggiedate. One had potential, but he wasn't willing to drive 2 hours to my town. We had 2 dates at a mid-way point. Decent guy, I could still be friends with. Anyway Veggiedate lets you see not only a glimpse into their diet, but also their religious beliefs and their future plans (children or not). All before you even say hello. It may not sound romantic, but where the heck else are we going to meet veg*ns.

I've been to veggie restaurants and at least near me... no one is there alone. When I surveyed the room it was all couples or Indian families. I don't have any veggie markets near me. I buy my products at stores that also sell meat.

Vegweb also has a personals section and a free chat room feature. There's hardly ever anyone in there though. I made the acquaintance of a male vegan in Tazmania (yeah, really far away) in the chat room.

I don't know. I guess we're all searching. Good luck.

Do people from here do that often?

I've used both sites I mentioned above. I've had around 8 girls total contact me over the last few years. Went to meet one, we had everything in the world in common, but there just wasn't any chemistry between us. No spark. *shrug* Almost went to meet another one, but she uh, yeah.

Just throw up a profile, and forget about it. You'll get messages from people at the most surprising times.

As few and far between veggies seem to be, every bit of exposure helps I suppose.

veggieconnection.com and veggiedate seem to be the most active and useful. Others, eg. greenpersonals.com lack critical mass.

The mainstream sites can also be used, with some frustrations:

Yahoo: seems to have the most nuts, trolls, and "pros".

Match.com: many list their diet as both "vegetarian/vegan" and "meat & potatoes". Vegan and vegetarian used to be seperate choices; they consolidated them a while back.

eHarmony: given the cost you tend to find fewer people who aren't serious, but matching is effectively random with respect to vegness.

Some observations common to all sites:

o Many people have their communications directed to a mailbox they set up just for the purpose eg. at yahoo or hotmail -- which they then check rarely if ever
o People often don't disable their profiles when they've found someone
o Women often still want the guy to make the initial contact
o Only a fraction of introductory messages one sends receive any response at all
o Criteria are often outrageous

how about Green Friends ?

i think all vegetarian dating sites are not very useful to me because they are US or UK based, and the profiles are mainly coming from these countries too.

For my local general dating sites,
they do not offer the search profile function,
and other do not allow you to search profile by keyword like "vegetarian" or "vegan".
Thus, i do not brother to join them too

There's one female vegetarian registered on Veggiedate who lives in Hong Kong.

Ellen Li is a 28 year old, Asian female, 5' 5" /165cm with slim build.
Living in Kowloon, Hong-Kong with no children.
Vegetarian diet, never drinks alcohol and never smokes.
Seeking casual dates OR serious relationship/marriage OR activity partner/friendship.
(joined Dec 2005 last login Dec 16 2005)

VegWeb has one female vegetarian registered from Hong Kong ... here. (http://vegweb.com/index.php?action=profile;u=52348)

Then again there may be tons more that are just like you.... looking at the site saying "OH, there's only 1 person from my country so why bother."
You should bother. Post your profile or else you have no chance of being "found".

I suggest you forget about it and move on. Otherwise, you may start to look obsessive to others. However, if you are obsessive, if is a good idea to let other know in advance. :)

Is she isn't interested, forget her. No need to contemplate it, or think about it, or regret it etc. Just move on. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Sometimes there's a weird desire to "be persued", but more often than not handwaving BS means "get lost, creep".
