View Full Version : Easy Money?

So as I sit here with empty pockets and no luck with a job hunt, I am wondering if there is some easy way to make money to help me out for a little while. The first thing I thought of was selling blood plasma, but alas, Canadian blood services don't pay their volunteers for anything. How dumb! I am actively searching for a "real" job of course, but I'd like a little something easy on the side....if someone has ideas, post em here! It'd be much appreciated :)

Sorry to hear about your financial situation. :(
Maybe a yard/garage sale? We often take in US$300-$500 from just throwing old clothing, books, CDs, furniture, etc out on the sidewalk and posting signs at nearby intersections.
I recently volunteered for a medical study on diabetes, but it involved several trips to the local hospital, four 5-hour hospital stays, and the payment (US$200) didn't arrive until nearly a month later. That kind of thing might not be quick enough to help with your immediate financial needs. :-/
Best of luck to you.

My take is there is no easy money. You have to work for everything.
Selling online is very low profit for the the amount of time it takes.
I've been needing the same but havn't been able to work for a while. I last applied for a job in Jan and I've been wanting to sell candles but I can'
t get to the suppliers.

Thanks for all the suggestions...I will probably check out waitressing or something. I actually just turned down a temporary job offer cuz it involves working with small children. I would seriously rather go without groceries and hit myself in the head repeatedly with a hammer than work with people's screaming little bundles of joy, so I'm really frustrated that I can't find something I am compatable with. Sigh. so my search continues.

I signed up to be on the contact list for this product testing company called Perryam and Kroll. They call me about once every three or four months with an offer to do some product testing. I get paid $25 to $50 per time to like, smell some lotion and then fill out a questionnaire.

I hear ya. I'm looking for a job too but can't seem to find a hell of a lot. I'm in college every day from 8am-1pm so that cuts out a lot of "day time" jobs. I've gone the Ebay route and have made about $400US in the last month or so but I still would like an actual job. I've been staying away from the 3-11pm jobs because I really need to study for school but I guess if I have to do it, then so be it.
A lot of universities will ask for volunteers for their research studies. That's another good way to make some extra cash, just as long as you fit the profile for their study. I've done it a couple times already and get around $20-$30 for answering questions.
A friend of mine works as a waitress at a nightclub and she says the pay is good.. well the tips are good. But she gets home around 4am.
I do agree with you about the blood donating bit. I could never understand the reasoning behind not getting paid for donating. Not that I should really be concerned seeing that I get turned away more often than not.
Well... good luck with your search.

hippymama: I cannot sew to save my life, unfortunately :(
I like the idea of experiments and product testing. I'll have to keep my eye open for stuff like that. hmmm....I have also stumbled across the idea of being a PSO, which greatly intrigues me, since I am not up to dancing, ha.
thankfully I've found some job positions that I have a good chance of getting, so it's all a matter of time now. :)

Yeah thanks for the link...I signed up for the one you suggested and I have made like 50 cents from it in a month, bah! I guess it's all a matter of luck or of being the correct target audience. I have a few things that I'm gonna sell on E-bay, once I figure out how that works :dunce:
I do have a job now but am not getting many hours, so I'm still keeping my eye open for these alternative money making methods.

You could collect cans and get the deposits, if your state has deposits on cans. People around here that are very dedicated to going through the recycle cans will get 3 or 4 garbage bags full of cans and bottles. It's only a nickel per can, but you may be able to scrape together an extra $20.

I've been a member for years, so I get more surveys...just do every survey they send you and the amount you get should go up

thats not a catch. just depending on your answers you will get other surveys. and the more surveys you ge the more answers you can put to qualify for others so its only logical that older members will get more. No Catch.
