What a blast.
Highly recommended.
And I got my best time ever (still pretty slow--I'm no speedster).
What was your time?
And why's it called the Flying Pig Half Marathon? Were there any flying pigs?

It's an Ohio thang. :p
Just kidding. Don't know why.

Congratulations! Flying Pig is pretty well-known. I'd be curious what your time is, too, if you feel like sharing. :)

I've always wanted to run that one! Especially this year I wanted to.
The pig was on my 26th birthday. What better way to celebrate? 26 miles on your 26th? Anyways, no interest from my running club to go all the way to Ohio. I love pigs too!
Congrats! Which race will you do next?

My time: 1:52:13. Considering that all my training was in Columbus (flat) and that the Pig course is very hilly, I'm happy with that result.
Apparently, Cincinnatti used to be known for it's pig market (probably because of the Ohio River). Somehow, the flying pig became a sort of unofficial mascot of the city in recent decades and statues of flying pigs can be seen throughout tthe city. I'm not from Cincy so someone else might know better.
I'm planning on doing the Deer Creek triathlon (Olympic distance) in June.
Maybe try a full marathon next year, though I'm not sure my knee can handle it.
