This guy in the video is an A-Hole. I hope he gets stomped or gored to death. I am serious! I hope that elephant gets him but good. I will say a little prayer tonight in hopes that this becomes a reality. I hope he gets it but good and I hope it's slow and painful. Video at the link below.

Reality TV Hits a New Low: On Celebrity Circus, Reality Bites
European media giant Endemol is strongly promoting its new reality TV show, Celebrity Circus, which features celebrities who perform with animals in the Circo Victor Hugo Cardinali, Portugal’s largest animal circus.

The tricks that the animals are forced to perform are unnatural for them, uncomfortable, and frightening. Animals in circuses spend most of their lives in chains or small cages, and they perform out of fear.

The circus’s director and owner, Victor Hugo Cardinali, has publicly—and unapologetically—admitted to beating animals. Portuguese animal protection group Animal Defenders International has released video footage showing that Cardinali jabbed an elephant more than 20 times in the face with a sharp metal spike. In a recent interview with a Portuguese radio station, Cardinali said, “I did hit the elephant because he did not want to do the trick and I don’t deny it. We can’t let an animal do what he wants to do, otherwise there is no respect and there is no reason for the trainer to be on stage.”

OH, and if that is what he does in public - just imagine what he does when there is no one around.

Sickening but typical, atleast the circus owner abuser is honest of his assaulting abuse, the ones in the uk play dumb and say "the elephants are one of the family we love them" and the comatose public don't see a problem because the undercover footage of the enslavement and cruelty is never fully shown on tv,thus animal rights activists look like whining dictators and the enslavers and abusers of elephants and other circus captives look like carers but thats the corprate industry lace tieing media.

What a piece of sh*# they are, i truly hope they get stomped to death by an elephant too.
unbelievable.
i was sickened last week at my dd's gymnastics center, i was waiting with all the other mommies and they were talking about how they are going to ringling bros next week,
well i said, we went to the big apple circus since they dont use abuse animals and use them in unnatural acts........they all just looked at me!!!

I am not very popular with the mommies anyway since i blasted one for taking their dog to the shelter, they had the dog for many years but " he got sick and i couldnt deal with it" was what she said, sick sick sick

So true. And even without video footage, people just need to use their common sense. I have seen many animal planet and national geographic programs and I have never seen elephants standing on top of each other, lions sitting on chairs or donkeys jumping 30 feet into pools of water...people need to ask themselves, if these animals don't do this naturally, how did the humans make them do it?

The whole "happy performer" animal of stupid movies like "Madagascar" is insulting.

And the same is true for dog shows, horse shows, rodeos, etc etc...

All those animals are beaten, abused and torutured regularly!!

As for elephants stomping the trainer to death. Unfortunately some elephants do fight back but after killing the trainer (or perhaps just maiming him) they are shot and killed :-( (after all they have nowhere to go).

Maybe you could volunteer at the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee and this may make you feel better. As for this little portuguese man, that is all he is: a pathetic little man, and when he dies and gets to the pearly gates and see that St-peter is an elephant, he'll know where he's going ;-)

I wish I could volunteer there. TES is my favorite charity (Lota is my avatar) but it's a little too far away for me. I am going to PAWS this summer though :)

Years ago I went to Africa and true enough I never once saw an elephant stand on their head. I always wonder how elephants in the wild are able to give birth without chains as well? I believe I saw a video of Shirley from Ringling give birth and she was chained by 3 legs. How sad :(

Well how weird is this. Yesterday I mention Shirley giving birth with 3 legs chained and today, here is Tom Rider talking about Shirley. Oh and note Shirleys age :(. For full story, here is the link.

Protesting the circus's performances around the country by revealing the elephant abuse he witnessed, Rider is armed with behind-the-scenes video footage. One of several disturbing incidents caught on tape is the birth of Riccardo, an elephant who later died at the age of 8-months after fracturing both hind legs when he fell off a circus pedestal. His mother, Shirley, was only 6-years-old -- less than half the age at which elephants normally begin to breed -- and was forced to give birth on a concrete floor with three of her legs chained.

"Ringling Bros. said the mother rejected him," Rider said, describing how animal handlers pulled Riccardo away from Shirley shortly after his birth. "Ringling tortures a baby elephant from the second he or she is born."

Shirley on the mind lately. Ringling has announced that Shirley has had another baby. Poor Shirley - I wonder if she was chained by 3 legs again. This is a sad day - I pray for this sweet baby.

I guess if I had read this more closely it wouldn't have taken a day to figure out he's not referring to Shirley at TES. One at peace; one still a hostage.

OMG! Sorrow - I never thought of it that way! YES. Shirley - I LOVE Shirley at TES - the matriach there - so wise and loving. Did you ever Shirley and Jennys reunion? I cry every time I watch that - especially on Urban elephant with Soloman and Shirley.

Sorrow - how incredibly profound - One at peace, one still a hostage - how sad is that? I cry for them both.

How terrible, That poor elephant. If I was at the circus (which I don't think I would be......lol) - I would have been disgusted seeing him do that. Argh. That comment about “I did hit the elephant because he did not want to do the trick and I don’t deny it. We can’t let an animal do what he wants to do, otherwise there is no respect and there is no reason for the trainer to be on stage.” - argh! He's not meant to be on that stage anyway! Poor thing.....argh this just makes me so angry and sad :-(

Man I never can see any of the videos people post in VB. I mean none of them. Hahaha. Sometimes I hate my Mac computer. :( Dang itttttttt.

I wish I could see it. :(

Well anyways. I'm not even shocked at what happened. The world is gonna get worst. Yall just be ready for it. I can't even picture myself hurting humans nor animals. It's just not in me. Maybe it is, but for me to think of myself doing it, I just can't think of it. :|
