There's a petcos' next to a TJ max we sometimes stop at and it would be a convient place for me to get some mouse supplies. Like since I've been keeping my mice seperate I could use another screen top for the second tank.

Of course I've been avoiding that place for a long time for ethical concerns. Where the pets die etc.
Recently I heard that petco was cleaning up their act, is that true?.

They still sell small animals, which is why PETA is still protesting them.

But in my limited experience they seem to take fair care of those animals. I personally shop at Pet Supplies Plus instead for many reasons, but I wouldn't be opposed to shopping at PetCo if I needed to. Our PetCo holds adoption events for our humane society. I'd certainly shop at PetCo before shopping at a store that sold dogs and cats.

My personal approach is to buy everything I can from a locally owned place that sells no animals, just supplies, and then what I can't get there I get from Petsmart, because at least they run an inhouse adoption space for cats, although I do wish they wouldn't sell the little guys.

There is a local petshop but they are rather expensive. They sell some things for almost twice as much as other places.
