How old were you when you lost your virginity? Do wish you had waited longer? Or maybe you wish you'd given it up sooner?

I was 14, which now sounds pretty young, but I don't regret it, it was with a guy I had been with for over a year, and we were much more responsible about it than most people I know having sex at my age (20).

I was 21, I was old enough, but I do wish I'd picked someone better. The guy was kind of an ass, but I was sick of being a virgin so I hooked up with pretty much the next guy who tried to get into my pants.

I was 19, with a guy who I had a long distance relationship with (met online) and were best friends first. We've been together 5 years and are engaged, so yeah, I think I made a good choice, hehe;) I wish we could have done it muuuuuuch sooner though!

i am still a virgin!ha 17--just before turning 18. just wanted to get it done. i had a boyfriend i had been seeing for a month and a half or so and dont regret it.

For those of us raped or molested as children, it's challenging to answer such polls...Losing one's virginity is certainly different than having sex when you were ready and interested in doing so...So, I answered the question "At what age did you choose to become intimate/have sex or feel ready to have sex etc." instead.

I was 16 and I kinda gave in to a girl that was sorta using me...sure, everything was going great at that time, but...to make a long and complicated story short, we did it a few times but neither of us really knew what we were doing. she also lied about several things (that I won't go into detail about), that kinda convinced me that it would "be okay".

I haven't done it with anyone else since and don't intend to until I get married.

Basically, I wish I had waited longer or at least made sure the girl I did it with wasn't just using me and that we were both ready for it.

I'd be interested to know how many VBers did suffer this type of abuse. I chose to answer based on when I first had sexual intercourse (which was forced) rather than when I willingly had sex for the first time.

Sarahjayn, thanks for speaking up. I wondered how to answer myself. Maybe we should start a separate poll (anonymous). Sexual abuse is far more prevalent than many would like to think :(

I was 16, and it was with my then-boyfriend of 1 and a half years. We've since broke up and I'm married to someone else, and don't even talk to that guy anymore, but I was glad to get the experience. It's good to learn, as long as it's in a safe environment with someone you trust.

They may have meant that, but personally, I don't think I could ever answer this question with just the first time I chose to engage in sex. It would feel like I was covering up, or fibbing about, one of the most influential (and terrifying) events of my life. Honestly, I think it has had a HUGE of effect on the timing of the next time I had sex (the first time by choice).

My V-day was on my 20th birthday with my college sweetheart, and I think it was an OK age. Any sooner would have been too soon, because boy, I did some dumbass things when I was 18! I was not ready to handle the responsibility of sex at 18. I dated that guy for the rest of the time I was in college, and was convinced I loved him, but shortly after I graduated he got a job in a city 2,000 miles away, said "so long," and took off. His leaving was the second best thing that ever happened to me. The best thing was meeting Mr. Tess.

Of course, I say I did dumbass things at 18, but you'll find as you go through life, that every 5 years that passes, you realize what a dumbass you were 5 years before. :lol:

I'm 17...about to be 18 in less than a month and I am still a virgin. I'm very happy that I still am and as of right now I would like to wait until marriage.

i didn't even kiss a girl until i was 18. so 1 month later, i had a chance to sleep with this girl, so i took it cause i didn't think it would ever happen again! (you can see how much self esteem i had) i got no pleasure whatsoever out of it. i barely knew her and regret all those 4 hours. i was her first as well, so you can imagine how awkward that was. i think she wanted to date me, and when i wasn't having that, she sorta faded away.

i wish i waited... but i guess there's no way to know what you're missing unless you try it. except meat, i don't wanna try that, ever.

i also want to say, i am very amazed at all those who choose to remain virgins. i have nothing but respect for that, especially girls.
