Everybody is getting ready at my house to head downtown for an Earth Day Kids Festival. Face painting, crafts from recyclables, etc. Should be fun times!

When I get back to Kansas City (I'm about 3 hrs away right now), I'm gonna hang out with my VegKC buddies. VegKC is hosting an Erik Marcus book signing along with our monthly potluck (which Mr. Marcus will be attending as well). It's gonna be great!
Of course, having VB member "Systmc" and Erik Marcus in the same room will be ...well, interesting to say the least.

If you're in the Kansas City area, you're welcome to attend! :D

It's fun stuff!

Happy earth day all
I love this day. My friends don't get it, but that's their problem.
I went to nearby state park and help prepare for the upcoming summer hiking & camping season. We cleaned a trail and put up a fence to protect the open areas. We also planted some flowering plants and a half dozen pine trees. It should grow pretty well. I hope they will be around for a few years anyway. The rangers were pleased with how many people showed up today. They said we accomplished more work than they could have done in a month.
It was something to do to help mother earth out and help keep from errosion. I did what I could to help my corner of the earth.
Go Planet Earth,:wayne:
Best home out there.:pibo:

My daughter and I road bikes to the grocery store. We've discussed over the past few weeks really working on cutting down our car usage. I asked her to pick one day we could bike to school/work, or we could not use the car on the weekends. She chose weekends (it is a long bike ride to school and back for an eight year old). We have normally done errands on bike for the past few years during the warm weather, but this year we are going to make a concerted effort to not use the car unless necessary on the weekends, and once school is out, we won't be using it much at all.

We are celebrating Earth Day tomorrow, since there's a huge festival at Balboa Park going on then. Henry's is having a "25% off all organic produce" sale, so I bough some *beautiful* swiss chard for only a DOLLAR! *gasp*

I bought some organic cotton socks (sweatshop free) and worked, but I work at the local Co-op which was where the Earth Day festival was in my city. There was really cool shaggy dog decked out in dreds.

Happy (late) Earth Day!!! :)

I didn't do anything today really... I wanted to plant something, like a tree or some flowers... but I live in an apartment and I doubt the apartment managers would appreciate me doing that. *sigh* And I couldn't think of any other place that I could plant them.

I cycled to work and will continue to do so! I was reading that LiveOffice are offering a free month of web conferencing and teleconferencing technology to businesses allowing their workers to telecommute to work during April. The Go Green! campaign is to show that much of business travel can be replaced with telecommuting technology services, such as web conferencing and teleconferencing.

Happy (very latee) earthday!
I went to my schools "park", and we painted a gazebo (sp?) and a bench we made out of wood. Along with a shed.
We also planted some vegetables we made for the soup kitchen next door.
It was fun and it feels good to be helping out in other ways then just not eating the animals.
