Hi, I'm new here. All of my family are vegan which includes my husband, myself, one cat and one dog. We are forever trying to find frugal vegan products. I just want to share a few that I've found. I was buying Jason's shampoo, conditioner and soap which are very good products. Unfortunately, we can't always afford the expensive products like Jason's. I recently found that all of 'White Rain' products are vegan and never tested on animals. Here's a link to prove it: http://www.whiterain.com/qna.asp

Also, a heads up on 'Wysong's Vegan dog/cat food'. This comes in a bag with a silver front and a yellow back. When I picked up my last bag there was a tiny, yellow sticker on the back that said the vitamin D is derived from wool. I called the company to confirm and yep it's from wool. I couldn't believe they used the word vegan in their name but they said it's a 'trade name'. So, I'm switching to Evolution. I contacted Evolution and they confirmed that their products are totally vegan!! I'm so mad because I bought and paid top dollar for Wysong's for a couple of years without knowing it wasn't really vegan.

The lesson I've learned is to contact the company in the future and not trust the word vegan on products. Del Monte owns Wysongs anyway so I should have did my research before I ever bought their product.

Do you have a Trader Joes near you? They are quite cheap. My mom likes to say that if you can find it there, you can't find it anywhere cheaper! Go here to find out: http://traderjoes.com/locations/index.asp

Almost all of Trader Joe's personal care products are vegan and aren't test on animals, and most of them are really cheap. They don't market themselves as a health food store, but rather a gourment store, but they have a ton of vegan and vegetarian food for cheap (ie bags of pasta for $.69, 28 ounce cans of tomatos for $.89, big tubs of soy delicious for $2.99 ect) :smitten: TJs

Trader Joe's markets itself as a unique grocery store, not gourmet.

Whole Foods' store brand is very inexpensive too, and mostly (if not all) vegan.

Sorry I couldn't remember the exact term. They haven't had commercials on for a few years.
