Was he going for the Darwin award (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_award)?
EDIT: I just read the article that I linked to and apparently jumping into zoo cages is too common of a death to be considered for the Darwin award.
now im starting to have second thoughts about doing that myself...

now im starting to have second thoughts about doing that myself...Same here, I was already packing my Bible when I read this.
I have no words for the stupidy of some people.
What a dumb ****.
I totally agree.
Damn heathen lions. :brood:
Oh for heaven's sake. He's not a dumbass. He obviously has a serious psychiatric problem. Maybe now he will get the help and medication he needs.
We do not know if he is a dumbass or a person in need of mental help.
I have known mentaly normal people to include thier pets in thier bible readings and such.
The reasoning? Apperantly many people either belive or do not belive animals have souls and thier reasoning is if they belive the animal does they want it to go to heaven.

Yeah. That was my thought too. These kind of news stories bother me because they're basically encouraging people to make fun of people with mental illnesses. :-/
Deranged? Definately! He's still stupid, and he sure didn't get those instructions out of the Bible.

How is expecting god to help you with a lion any different than expecting god to help you with a sick friend?

It's unlikely that your sick friend will bite you in the leg should divine intervention not be forthcoming.
It's because lions have different gods than human beings. And they don't speak the same language. Lion gods go "Roar" and human gods go "Hallelluja". Here is a picture of a lion god in case you've never seen one: http://www.mettemusen.dk/images/funny/lion_doh.jpg

He sure trusted his faith that he wouldn't be eaten. He's obviously not capable of making rational decisions. Maybe he's got a low IQ as well. Who knows. I feel sympathetic towards him. I think saying he's an idiot or an ass is just ignorant. Just my opinon but I'm sure someone will take offense; no offense meant. *shrugs*
i blame the mtv show Wild Boys, along with the movie Narnia...

Delusional or not, that certainly must have taught him a lesson! Nothing like learning the hard way!

****, at first i thought the article said he tried to turn a lion into jesus....not the whole accept jesus into your heart thing.

I think it's worse than ignorance. And if someone takes offense, in my case it's intended.
