does anyone know how to grow a plant that will produce avocadoes? I know that the seed will make a nice plant, but they usually don't produce fruit, and I was wondering where you could get a seed that would and if there is anything special you have to do to get it to grow. Thanks!

You can grow a tree from the pit now the biggest error people make is in just leting it grow!
If you do not hard hard prune it as a baby tree it turns into a tall willowing plant that does not produce good.

Avacados you literaly once they have 3 or 4 leaves you cut them in half, just snip aboutr midway down the trunk and take all the leaves off.
Has to be done very young though for the tree to recover.

Also just so you know growing them from the pit is no way to be sure the produce will be like the parent plant.
I think most avacodos today are tree grafts onto hardy root stalks so the baby's are differant from the parents.
May want to look into that because my memory is a bit fuzzy there.
