As per challenge #5 of the VB Challenge I am compiling a list of places that I frequented often when I was new to vegetarianism. I hope these help, and add some more of your own!
-- www.veganchef.com <== incredible recipes
-- veganlunchbox.blogspot.com <== amazing mother and her ideas for healthy vegan food
-- www.peta.org <== information, but take it with a grain of salt
-- www.cafepress.com <== funny vegetarian themed clothing. Use the search feature to find anything vegeatarian, vegan, vegetable,etc.
-- www.vegfamily.com <== good information even if you don't have children.
Things I personally love: Find a local coffee shop, they almost always have soy as an option over milk and you'll be supporting small business.
/ Alternative Baking Company has the best tasting vegan (or regular) cookie in the galaxy. Just be careful of the calories.
/ If you like sweet things but are watching your weight, stevia is a no-calorie vegan (and non-processed like Splenda) sweetener. Only use 1/4 tsp at a time because it can get bitter.
/ You don't need a lot of money to be vegan, just don't eat so many pre-made meals.
/ Give yourself some slack if you want to be vegan, it takes time to learn how to read labels. You can still consider yourself vegan if something slips past you. Let it go and learn from it.
