Ok, its not ALL that bad, I am just SOOOOOOO worried because my Moms cat Foofy Mr. has been gone for a couple days and I havent seen him, and am starting to get worried sick, and my Mom REALLY misses him, so I was just asking, where do you think he is? Do you think he's ok? WHAT COULD BE WRONG?!?!?!?!?!?!
Uhh, without more history, none of us could really say.
You should check the shelters and vets. Try making up fliers with a good, recent picture of him. Just get out in the neighborhood and look for him.
I'm guessing he doesn't have a habit of wandering off for a couple days and coming back?

Ok, the deal is, he ALWAYS tries to get out, and does, and is gone, but only for a few hours. Also, we dont have any good recent pics of him, and also his Daddy Pumpkin and his Mommy Smeogle were missing also, but they came back. I am soooooooooooo worried, but ya, he doesnt leave for days, but he does get out and leave for hours, and then gets mad when we make him some back.

Have you checked the shelters to see if he's been picked up? Call all of them and tell them your cat is lost, they'll take down your info and call if they find him (though you should still stop by to look for yourself).
How do they keep getting out?

This website has really good information about how to go about finding a lost cat. If he's an indoor cat who's gotten out, he likely hasn't gone far and is hiding somewhere (providing he hasn't been removed from the area or injured). http://www.lostapet.org/indoorCat.html
Nice site, BPS! Thanks for posting.

PopStar, thinking about your age you should take this advice but get your mom to do it. Has she called places? Alerted the neighbors? Did they all get out at once? How do they keep getting out (this was already asked but, I felt it was important) Calm Down. Being freaked out is going to make you to worried to think striaght. You said you ussually "make him come back in" where does he ussually go when you make him come back? And this is off topic but since they seem to get out alot, they are fixed, right?

No, there not fixed yet, and only Foofy GETS out, Pumpkin and Smeogle are outdoor cats, Pumpkin has lived outside since we moved here, (he was already here when we got here 4 years ago) and Smeogle refuses to come in, but Foofy usually gets out by like, if we go outside he slips out the door under your feet. We sometimes let him out though because he throws HUGE fits, and he always comes back. He sometimes sits outside the door and meows untill we let him in, but he didnt come back this time. I made some flyers, maybe me and my Mom could put them out around town later when my Dad gets home, (He has our only working car) and I dont know, thanks alot guys, I will check out the site BPS! Thanks guys, also, I am still open to suggestions.
Wow. None of them are fixed and most of them are outside regularly? I would strongly suggest getting them all fixed. If there are females roaming around and they aren't fixed, that's a whole lot of unwanted litters. Plus, with the males not being fixed they may end up getting into fights with other males. Are the cats up to date on all their shots?
Good luck with the fliers and be sure to keep looking around your street and talk to some neighbors, too.

Given that their names are Mommy & Daddy, I don't think they even need other cats around. :-/ Sad situation.

Ya, well, we arent even sure about Pumpkin though, we think he MAY belong to someone else, he is basically just a stray we feed, and the mother of Foofy, Smeogle keeps having kittens before we get the chance to get her fixed, she just had more, so ya, and we dont really mind having the kittens around, we just make sure we find them all good loving homes. But ya, anyways, ya, there REALLY healthy cats, and there all pretty fat, even Pumkpin (who we think may belong to someone else also, kinda the neighborhood cat) and we cant pick him up though, he probably WILL bite if we pick him up. Same thing for Smeogle, but ya, anyways, Foofy ALWAYS finds a way to get out, he will even open the back door to get out, he hates the house. My Mom says he's probably off chasing a female cat in heat, like Pumpkin will do that, we wont see him for WEEKS but he always comes back, but ya, were going to try and put up fliers later, and I asked my friend if she's seen him, she hasnt emailed me back yet, I will keep asking, and looking, thanks guys!

you need to get all the cats you feed fixed. and YOUR cat might not try to get out as much if it was fixed. there are programs out there to help with the cost.
I find it hard to believe that you can find homes for litter after litter.
Getting him neutered may make it easier to keep him in the house. He won't be trying to get out to mate.

She just needs to be kept inside permanently until your parents are able to get her fixed. It's healthier for her and there won't be anymore unwanted kittens. They can check with the vet and the SPCA about when their cheaper spay and neuter days are.

Well, we CANT keep her in the house. When we do, she screams, and scratches, and hisses at all the other cats. And ya, we dont find homes for ALL of the kittens, but so far, there have been two litters, and there were 6 in one, and four in the other, and we ended up with three, (one, Foofy we chose to keep) so ya, I guess 3 out of ten isnt bad, and we kinda wanted to keep Elsie too. She just had kittens also, (Ugh.) But it is Spring time, and will be easier to give them away then it was in the late fall, and Smeogles kittens I think are in the nieghbors shed, she goes over there, and I know she had them though, because she went over there fat, and came back the next day skinny. Were probably going to go ask the neighbor if we can look in his shed for the kittens, and heck, Foofy. But ya, its hard to keep Sneogle inside, harder then Foofy.

it will be easier to keep them inside if they are fixed. It's irresponsible to not have all these cats fixed.

It won't be easier to give them away in the spring than in the fall because the spring is when most cats have kittens, so there's going to be kittens everywhere. A lot of shelters hate this time of the year because there are so many kittens that they end up having to euthanize (kill) many of them. You can spay the female while she's pregnant, and you can neuter the male at any time.
You parents aren't providing very good care for these cats. They might seem healthy, but do they have FIV? (you won't know the answer to that question because they haven't been tested, but unnuetered male cats that live outdoor are at high risk fo that disease). If your parents can't care for them, they shouldn't feed them. Instead of finding homes for litter at litter, they should work on finding homes for the adult cats.

there are 30 plus cats in the US for every one person, every cat you give away gets another cat killed and makes more cats to be killed later because THERE ARE NO HOMES FOR THEM. Even if you find homes for you kittens it just pushes other cats that need homes into shelters and eventually they end up dead.
Get you cat spayed, if she gets pregnant again before you get her spayed you can still spay her and abort all the kittens as well.

1. you CAN get them fixed. there are programs out there to help with the cost.
2. I know it's upsetting to lose your cat, so why don't you go out around the neighborhood and look for him?

you CAAAN get them fixed! this is making me pretty darn angry. FIRST: there are FREE programs to get them fixed. So money is NOT an excuse. they can be fixed at any time so THATS not an excuse. its pure laziness, and if you cant care for a pet its selfish to keep it. I know you are very young, so people bining up these problems to you probably wont solve anything. But the fact that your parents are letting all these cats run free unfixed having kittens everywere is VERY irresponisble. Everytime you give away kittens that person doesnt go to the shelter and adopts one so theres another kittne that had to be put to sleep. Also if they are fixed they wont run away as much.

FIRST: there are FREE programs to get them fixed. So money is NOT an excuse. Not in most areas of the country.
As for finding your cat, the link that BPS provided had a lot of good suggestions. Would it be possible to bring the other cats inside until you've found the missing cat? Some of the options, such as trapping, won't work with other cats present. Plus if you're setting out food for the outside cats, the inside cat isn't going to be encouraged to come inside. If possible keep the cats indoor, and then place a live trap somewhere nearby with tuna inside it.

*shrug* Your parents are adults, and old enough to be judged for what they do.
But I hope your cat comes back.

Where are you located that there are not free spay/neuter programs? I'll try to help and not criticize. How old are you?
