Can we compare and talk about differences between following animals of same race? :-

1)Animals who are growing in Zoo: we treat them very kindly and we do not hurt them or harass them.

2)Domestic Pets: We treat them kindly, give them luxury of everything.

3)Animals killed for food: They are killed, tortured mercilessly.

Can we see real difference among three categories? Do they have difference?
If there is no difference then why do we treat them differently?

Ah - no - animals in zoos treated "kindly" well, not all animals and not all zoos.

Animals in zoos: some are treated well, some aren't.

Animals as pets: Not all are treated kindly or given luxuries.

Animals as food: Majority are killed in slaughterhouses, but some people hunt their own food.

I don't see a difference, really, with the categories. Maybe it's a cultural difference of people. For example, people in the U.S. frown at the thought of eating cats, but some places overseas eat them regularly. Some people think the cow a sacred animal and don't eat it, but it's most widely a food animal.
