Vegetarian "Sausage" Gravy
Category: Breakfast

Suitable for a: vegetarian diet


Ingredients:
------------------------------------------------------

Gimme Lean Sausage Style (By light life)
Milk
Flour
Brown Sugar (Optional)


Instructions:
------------------------------------------------------

Put the "susage" in a pan and brown it.
Once that is done, pour in enough milk to cover the "meat".
Add the flour little by little stirring constantly until you get the desired thickness (This can take FOREVER if you like it really think like I do).
Once it is at the thickness you like add the bown sugar to add a little sweetness to the spiciness.

This can be made Vegan easily, but wasn't quite sure how.
Serve this over corn bread or biscuits

could it be made vegan by using tofu? i don't know...i'm not a vegan. but it does sound good...i'll have to make this one morning. can you find that sausage stuff at any grocery store? or is it only at like the health-food places?

The "Gimme-Lean" stuff is vegan and available in most major (US) grocery stores - or Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc.

I make "sausage" gravy (different recipe) just about every week for my kids, using another brand of vegan "sausage' and soy milk... You don't need tofu at all, unless you really want it.
