What a farce and what a tragedy. Can you Americans GET RID OF BUSH AND HIS GANG PLEASE?????????????????????????
http://www.newyorker.com/fact/content/articles/060417fa_fact
'A government consultant with close ties to the civilian leadership in the Pentagon said that Bush was “absolutely convinced that Iran is going to get the bomb” if it is not stopped. He said that the President believes that he must do “what no Democrat or Republican, if elected in the future, would have the courage to do,” and “that saving Iran is going to be his legacy.”
One former defense official, who still deals with sensitive issues for the Bush Administration, told me that the military planning was premised on a belief that “a sustained bombing campaign in Iran will humiliate the religious leadership and lead the public to rise up and overthrow the government.” He added, “I was shocked when I heard it, and asked myself, ‘What are they smoking?’ ”'

Can you Americans GET RID OF BUSH AND HIS GANG PLEASE?????????????????????????
Sure, as soon as his term is over. One question for you though, can you freakin get off of the American's people asses? Thanks.
Ludi: The war on Iran was planned ages ago. Iraq was just a diversion. There are strong rumours of a planned nuclear attack...
Goettling: President Bush and his Gang are screwing the whole bloody world. So I think the world is entitled to give their opinions on these freaking warmongering bastards. Do you know how much the Bush Administration is HATED and DESPISED in the world? I don't think I've met one single person in the last few years who has anything decent to say about them.
It has nothing to do with you personally, goettling, and everything to do with the future of the whole f***ing planet.
Before Bush was elected (to give an example) the youth of Europe would walk around with baseball caps with the American flag on them. They would even have t-shirts with the American flag. Since Bush's elections, these have disappeared completely. I don't think I've seen an American flag on a t-shirt of cap for the last 5 years.
Vote for someone else, and things can swing back. The world does not hate America. The world hates what Bush stands for.

A great deal of us don't like it either. He'll be gone in 2008. What exactly does America bashing on a cyber board do to expedite that?
It IS a little tiring. :(
I don't like this war, I definitely don't like Bush, but I'm still happy to be an American and I don't particularly like being blamed for what my government has done.
Mary
Where has there been America bashing? Can you point me to some specific posts?
You know, people must realise that when people say "America does this" and "America does that", we're not talking about individuals. We're talking about the international policy that is being implemented by a specific administration. Why do so many people take this PERSONALLY? Is it not possible to step back and see the wider picture?
Mary: I was not blaming you. Heck... I don't even KNOW you!!!
(If someone says to me "Switzerland stole the money from the Jews" - I would not take this personally! I wasn't even ALIVE when they stole the bloody money. The fact is that there were Swiss banks that did this underhand thing. I quite understand that when people say "Switzerland" they are referring to "Swiss Banks". The Swiss people were absolutely unaware of the fact until it became public and they were angry and pissed off to hear it, I can assure you. It's the way people talk. Nothing to get all excited and upset about on a PERSONAL level.)
I also think that the average (when I say "average" please don't take this personally!) American realises how scared the world is of America (do you understand now what I mean when I say "America"? We're not scared of YOU, we're scared of your present government who seem to be screwing things up so badly that it may be impossible for any future government - Democrat or Republican - to fix.)

Whatever. Europe was bitching about the US long before Bush.

And we should care?

Bush's gang is the capitalist class at large. We cannot rid ourselves of its rule via electoral politics. The best we can do is exert minor influence so as to promote different strategies advocated by other elements of the ruling elite.
There is no cabal. There is only rule as it has been exerted for the last fifty years.

Not America bashing "per se" tho you're pretty transparent if you haven't realized it by now...not that I have a problem with it at all. I don't blame the world for being p*ssed at America and of course Americans are going to be stereotyped because that's just what people do. But you are addressing Americans
"Can you Americans GET RID OF BUSH AND HIS GANG PLEASE?????????????????????????"
albeit the wrong Americans. I think the audience you're looking for could be found on conservative/repub board.

Don't look at me, I voted for Badnarik.
I may not find Bush's tactics desirable, but Iran developing nukes is unacceptable.

I didn't take it personally as in it was MY fault by the way.
Maybe you can elaborate on what you meant by "Can you Americans please get rid of Bush and his gang now" then? Because I took that as a little bit of finger pointing.
Every country has it's wrongdoings it doesn't really make much of a difference if it's happening NOW or 50 years ago. Wrong is wrong and nothing and no one is perfect. I had to sound callous but I'm not going to be ashamed of where I live because people in Europe don't like my president and I'm not going to apologize for his actions.
Furthermore, for anyone who doesn't 'get' how American politics work, Bush is in until 2008. No, we CAN'T get rid of him, he's in. He can not run again and, judging by his approval ratings, any of his "gang" is not likely to get in either should they even bother to run. The president is president for 4 years unless he really screws up. So far Bush has stayed on the 'can't touch me' side of the line.

Are you being serious? :stinkeye: It's pretty self explanatory. When you say "you Americans," it's clear that you're talking to individuals and not about our "administration's policies."

no need to be ashamed of where you live, however, if you disagree with Bush's policies you can speak out, write your reps, take to the streets, write letters to the editor, protest, on and on. in Europe, many demos across the continent draw hundreds of thousands.
we got Nixon out of office and if enough people were making a stink about Bush's lying and total lack of ethics, congress would have to listen.

I don't believe that protesting will get him out of office. Protesting didn't stop the war did it? I would write in a heartbeat if I thought it would make a wit of difference but I have a feeling I know right where the letter would go.:flush: I don't have much faith that this administration very much cares what the common folk think, they didn't even really care what the majority of people voted for, if they did Bush would never have been president the first time around.
I only hope the democrats pick a reasonable person next time out and the next president can mitigate some of the damage done by the current one.

Ludi: The war on Iran was planned ages ago. Iraq was just a diversion. There are strong rumours of a planned nuclear attack...
Seems, though, that it's Europe worried about Iraq attacking...
So I think the world is entitled to give their opinions on these freaking warmongering bastards. Do you know how much the Bush Administration is HATED and DESPISED in the world? I don't think I've met one single person in the last few years who has anything decent to say about them.
LOL. Yeah, like all those Euro-diplomats in Tehran that keep looking over their shoulders to just to make sure they're still covered by the Bush administration's shadow? The one's that are pressuring the U.S. to increase it's pressure on Iraq?
I suppose having someone in your corner that's hated and despised ain't always a bad thing.
Before Bush was elected (to give an example) the youth of Europe would walk around with baseball caps with the American flag on them. They would even have t-shirts with the American flag.
Yeah, it was always kinda sad how little of their culture they could call their own.
Since Bush's elections, these have disappeared completely. I don't think I've seen an American flag on a t-shirt of cap for the last 5 years.
Maybe they've finally grown up and are coming into their own? I mean, I've never seen any kids in the U.S. walking around with a Belgian flag.
Vote for someone else, and things can swing back.
Call us self absorbed, but most Americans really could care less if you go back to wearing our flag on your t-shirts. Wear your own darn flags. Just don't get all mopey when you finally admit to yourself that, at least for the rest of your lifetime, Europe will be stuck following around on the heels of the U.S. no matter who we elect president.
Might as well get used to it.

What a farce and what a tragedy. Can you Americans GET RID OF BUSH AND HIS GANG PLEASE?????????????????????????
I have been under the impression that Europe has been dealing with a terrorist problem for about 30 yrs or so. Would that not be part of the war on terrorism, ie the Long War?
I think the diplomats and politicians of our country tried very hard to separate the USA war on terrorism from the wars against Afganistan and Irak. Because theyw ant to be a part of the latter, but not the former. So, no they wouldn't see it that way.
Whatever. Europe was bitching about the US long before Bush.
Europe bitching about the USA is the least of your problems. I'd worry about Azia... There it's not bitching, but outright hating. And we all know what hate leads to, right?
And we should care?
Who is this we? All the people of the USA, or just the Bush-voters?
When Butztuma spoke of on behalf of the american people, you didn't seem to like that very much either.
Anyway, why should you care about what other people think of your country? I don't know if you should care, but if you don't, why even bother to write in this topic? Why even read the reply's of people who dont like the USA? If you really don't care?
By the way, I think your government should care, even if you don't. The hatred against the USA as well as the rest of the western world is what leads to all these wars, and breeds all those people willing to kill themselves if they can manage to kill lots of other people with them.
And, I care about that, a lot.
Maybe you can elaborate on what you meant by "Can you Americans please get rid of Bush and his gang now" then? Because I took that as a little bit of finger pointing.
I can't change your reaction to my post. If it got you on the defensive, then you have to deal with your own emotions. Of course, if we were sitting in a room together, we could discuss it at length, but internet message boards work differently.
Finger pointing? Don't be silly! Who else but Americans can get rid of Bush????? That's why I said "you Americans". I could not very well address myself to the non-Americans. What could a Venezuelan or a German do to get rid of Bush and his gang... they can't vote in US elections.
You are not suggesting, I hope, that Al Queda does the job for you. :( :( Those Al Queda guys are WICKED.
(And quite frankly, it was obvious that I was posted what I did because I had a strong reaction to the f***ing "Long War" which has replaced the "War on Terror!". I didn't entitle this thread "get rid of Bush". I entitled it "The Long War".)
I find some of your reactions very amusing.

What a farce and what a tragedy. Can you Americans GET RID OF BUSH AND HIS GANG PLEASE?????????????????????????
Bush will be gone in a few years. His gang will be around forever. In fact, I think they're running your country, too (I forget where you're from Australia? England? Belgium? Same-same).
Europe bitching about the USA is the least of your problems. I'd worry about Azia... There it's not bitching, but outright hating. And we all know what hate leads to, right?
Who the hell is "Azia"? Do you mean "Asia"?
Nope, not too worried about them.
Who is this we? All the people of the USA, or just the Bush-voters?
The royal "we" for Bush voters and the majority of 'mericans who don't particularly care to hear what those from insignificant nations have to say.
When Butztuma spoke of on behalf of the american people, you didn't seem to like that very much either.
I don't pretend to speak on behalf of butztuma or her ilk. They obviously worry about what the other nations think. As long as they don't presume to speak for me, they can stick their noses up all the Euro-hineys they choose.
Anyway, why should you care about what other people think of your country? I don't know if you should care, but if you don't, why even bother to write in this topic? Why even read the reply's of people who dont like the USA? If you really don't care?
Because it's a message board. And if you'll notice, my initial replies were to other US citizens who were bashing their fellow citizens. Pay attention.
By the way, I think your government should care, even if you don't. The hatred against the USA as well as the rest of the western world is what leads to all these wars, and breeds all those people willing to kill themselves if they can manage to kill lots of other people with them.
And, I care about that, a lot.
Our nation catering to those types hurts us more than it helps us. And quit pretending the anti-US sentiment started with Bush. That is an outright lie and you know it.
I think we may have to attack Iran. They're starting to get nuclear capabilities, which is recisely what we don't want.
It's a bit of a bugger, but at least it gives the rest of the world something to spend money on.
