i hate the city's, they have no use, they are filled with scum, parasites and criminals and drugusers, they cause polution and make ****.

i am in the Netherlands and if it was up to me all the city's would be destroyed and my whole land would turn into 1 big forrest.

no more politics, left and right winged, no more socialism communism or fascism (its all the same), no more overpopulation because no immigrant want to come here when its only nature.

no more cars

only nature

only then the animals have real freedom.

You don't seem to have any compassion for people. Don't they figure in to the equation at all?

Are we allowed to have shelter, electricity, heat, oil and gas still for homes? Or is that also bad?

But, Green, where should we live? We can't go living in a forest with 16 million people! And, overpopulation isn't because of immigration, there are more people migrating away the Netherlands then too it.

I love cities. It's the suburbs I could do without.

It is cities, not city's since you aren't talking about something that belongs to the city, you are talking about more than one city.

What is a paraside? (I'm being serious, I have no idea what you are talking about)

Where do the people go when their place they live is destroyed? Are you aware how many years it takes to build a forest? Are you aware that a lot of the land cities are on can not support the forest?

Are you aware that there is no electrity in the forest to run your computer?

What is a paraside? (I'm being serious, I have no idea what you are talking about)I gathered that she meant parasites. Not sure what she meant by that though, as clearly there are lots of parasites in forests too.

Are you aware that there is no electrity in the forest to run your computer? :guitar:

This is clearly not a well-thought-out plan...

I think that idea is quite utopian. It would be very nice to be in one big forest but not easily achievable. By the way, cities cover a very small amount of Earth. There is still a lot of forest left. We just need to stop cutting down forests so quickly so they won't vanish in the future.

Never going to happen, impossible...it's waste of time even thinking about it

I agree with your statement but I must point out a common misconception. On average there is no more crime in a city then in rural areas. In the city there are more people in less space, the crime rate is actually the same, you just have to take into account there are more people.

I think step #1 should be to unplug the computer.

Also very true, we won't be here forever...and I was thinking the same exact thing as Micheal:D

Bingo!

And I'll second Kelly's idea--get rid of the 'burbs first. Cultural, environmental, and intellectual wasteland.

I'm all down with getting rid of cars--that's definitely an over-done and detrimental invention--but cities are the only hope we have of doing that. In many ways, urban areas are the most efficient and green ways of living. Those who drive their SOV (single occupant vehicle) SUVs to "nature" might think twice.

Actually, by living in a city, you take up less space and have less impact on the earth. You share energy for heat, shleter, land, etc. If we all live in suburbia we destoy more and more forrests and flatten more green just for roads.

Ideal situation would be for us to live in the forrest, with a composting toliet, solar energy, and grow your own food. but even that would take up too much space per person and the earth would suffer if we ALL lived that way... City life isn't for everyone but you pretty much are doing more dammage by living in the suburbs.

Exactly, cities=less cars, suburbs=more cars. So your post does not make sense. Plus, if everyone just lived randomly, how would people get around? Have jobs? Get to a doctors? Sure they could bike it but if someone needs to bike several hours to get to the nearest hospital, how's that going to help??

Something like co-housing might be good.

I am not trying to be a smart mouth, but didn't you people carve a lot of your country out of the sea itself? I mean, if history class was anywhere near correct, your country was established by a hearty bunch of people who started with almost nothing and made one of the richest, but tiniest nations in the world during the exploration era holding a huge amount of land mass in trade colonies around the world, New Amsterdam for one. Of course we now know it as New York City.

Don't sell your people so short. Check your history. You are a country of courageous survivors even champions over invasion, flood, and the very threat of the sea itself. Trust your people to have the courage to overcome this invasion of modern polutants also. You have a rich heritage. Study it. Be proud of it. It is just short of amazing.
