Don't know if you've ever tried them butI use the fake pepperonies for my pizza's KP. Just make sure they are covered in sauce or they dry out in the oven. Taste really close to the original.

Yeah, I've tried them all. I don't mind Yves brand now. None are quite as good as the real thing, but they work.

It's actually usually made from both pigs and cattle, usually cuts from their buttocks. Sometimes the casings are synthetic, sometimes they're parts of the pig's intestine. This goes for all sausage though.. not just pepperoni.

They eat the organ that manufactures poo and they call tofu gross :p

Animallover, in all our supermarkets the fake pepperoni is kept in the produce section, near the tofu and veggie cheeses and fake deli slices.

pepperoni is actually just bell peppers (I think, i never get the english pepper names right) in italian. So, pizza pepperoni in a restaurant over here might either contain peppers or sausage, depending on the origins of the restaurant-owners :)

Bit of a dissapointment after going to an american pizza restaurant. :)

Me too... I hated to think what it was but it was good... I think the saltiness and not meaty texture appealed to me.
