I need some good advice from other vb teens.
So my spring break starts tomorow, and it is 8 week days long.
Today these family friends I babysit for phoned my mom and asked her if I can go with them on vacation for 5 days to babysit their baby while they go out.
I have until tonight to decide.
I am really torn, because I can stay here with my family and hang out with my friends (the ones that are going to be here) or I can go with them for the experience and cash. If I do go it will be from Saturday until wednesday. The place they are going is not very far from my house.
What would you do?
Oh- ps. veg food will be available for me, because one of the family members is veg too.

do you get along with the other people of the family?
is so...
go for it :)
you could take the money earned, and spend it on time hanging with your friends the other three days of vacation :)
besides, it'll be a good experience, and how many times have you not done something and regretted the decision later? if it's a bad experience, you'll learn from it and move on, but regret of not doing something lasts much longer. you'll wonder what it would have been like? would i have had fun? i probably should have done it...
idk, that's just my opinion.
good luck deciding, talk to your parents about it, what do they think? and most of all, do what you want to do!

Just FYI, my friend did the same thing over a three day weekend. She went with a family she always babysits so she thought it would be great. Turns out to be babysitting from hell. Poor girl had the worst holiday weekend ever. She was stuck with the kids 24/7.
If it were me, i would stay home but if you really need the money go for it!

I'd say chance it. you can earn some cash, and if you ever need a reference for another job this could be a good experience.

Ok I think I might go for it. I dont have much better to do anyway, so I might as well earn some money.
It might be a bit awkward. I mean, do I sit with the familys at dinner (they are visiting friends), where do I sleep etc.
I hope I'm not stuck w/ the kids 24/7 like vegwithedge said.
I like steinbocks idea about regretting not going later.
I might even have fun.

sure you will! go in it with the idea that you're going to have a blast, then just have fun with the kids!
if you think you're going to have fun, it's more likely that you will. where if you go in saying "oh boy..." then you probably won't have fun.
so, have fun!

my advise is, if you like the kids, then take the job! bring some stuff that you would like to do alone, for when the family is having family time. also, bring "new" game ideas for the kids. plan out creative ways to pass the time.
but, my most impirtant advise is toask the parents what ur responsabilities are before you say yes or no. if they say something you don't like, thenyou can work it out before your stuck.
plus, free food! i would almost go just for the food!
how much would you get paid?

OK I don't know if anyone will see this, but anyway. I had sooo much fun! Thanks everyone for telling me to go. I didn't have to take care of the kids a lot, and they were very well behaved. I got to see all the attractions they went to, and was involved with the family. The baby is so cute!
So it was a great experience. I ate a lot of food, I'm trying to detox today!

We went to New york city. We stayed in an apartment near central park. I love nyc now. Its very veg friendly and has lots of veg restuarants and veg menu options.
Has anyone else been there?

It was so sad, when we were in chinatown, I saw a chinese lady selling 2 baby turtles. She told me that they were $5 each. They were in a tiny tank, and in the direct sun. When I told her I felt bad for them, she just shrugged. I think it's illegal to sell them on the street though.

Thats so mean. Did you try and help them (I know you commented to her)? I hope someone comes along and gives them a good home.

Well, under different circumstances I would have bought them. If I had money (by this time I had spent everything on souvenirs) and if I was with my own family I would have bought them and either kept them or given them to a reptile shelter. I felt so bad afterwards.
