Hi everyone.
I am wanting to dye my hair with a natural product without all the 'nasty stuff' that goes into them. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have tried Daniel Field but did hear that there is a little of a chemical in his products but I am unsure on this. I am not sure what I need to look for on the packaging.
Thanks in advance for any information.

What colour are you planning on dying your hair? There is a store near me called Lush. They don't test on animals or they label all their products with whether they are vegan or not. Anyway, they have these shampoo bar things that gradually dye your hair, or they also have these sort of natural henna blocks where you heat them mixed with water (I think) and use the goop as dye. I think they only come in red/brown sort of shades though (being henna) so I don't know if that's useful or if you could find something similar near you.

I use Henna on my hair. It's wonderful. Leaves it really shinny with nice highlights. I've been wanting to try Lush's henna but it seems llike too much work. I get my henna at American Harvest. It's powdered. You add boiling water to it (I also add olive oil), put it on for a few hours and cover it with a shower cap.

Hi! Thank you both for your advice. I do have a lush near me and the colour would be fine but I heard that it was really hard to make it up and apply. That scares me!!! LOL

Is this the shampoo bar?

Before trying henna, you can get your feet wet so to speak with Lush's Arabian Bright treatment. It's a henna based conditioner that will slightly add color to your hair (if any). The application process is just about the same as a straight out henna as well as getting it out. It may give you an idea on whether you would like to invest in an actual henna coloring.
Read Lush's henna forum. They have some really tried and true use tips. Also have a thread with before and after pics.
Good Luck!
