Anyone know of a vegan, natural, broad-spectrum, waterproof sunscreen available in Canada? (I'm not asking a lot, am I? )
I used to use Alba Botanica but it's not available here anymore.
Does Aveda make one?
I'm currently using Jane Iredale powder on my face (full-spectrum SPF 20) but I need something for the beach, for my body.
THanks in advance.

Organica - are there Trader Joes in Canada? If so, TJ's brand is excellent. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head, since it's the only one I use.
If not, why not look around on the internet for a vegan shop that will ship to you... maybe you could find a good deal and stock up for the whole summer. Good luck!

Thanks, but we don't have Trader Joe's here. I wish we did.
I'm unable to order products from the US because it's too expensive & I don't have a credit card.
I know the hfs in Halifax has Aubrey Organics, but they don't make a waterproof formula that I know of.
There's Nature's Gate, but I find their products contain a lot of toxic ingredients.
I will have to go to the Aveda store & see if theirs is vegan & waterproof.

Organica, I live in Ontario, so some of the stuff I see around may be different, but I'll take a peek around over the weekend and see if I can find anything that isn't going to break the budget, and is vegan - that hopefully you can find on the east coast.

I liked Alba too, but wasn't able to find it last year. I got burned very badly on Memorial Day and so decided I needed to find something. I ended up with this stuff from Kiss My Face: http://www.kissmyface.com/Product/Kiss+My+Face/Sun+Care/1800498EA/
It worked well, but left me a bit pasty, thanks to the Titanium Dioxide.

Organica, I found the Alba sports waterproof sunscreen at my local Natural Food Pantry - there's a variety of choices. I don't know if they'd ship it out to you, or if thats something you're interested in.
Anyway... generally speaking this is their selection (from the Alba site):

PM me if you're interested in more info :)

I just bought some Alba too, at a local HFS. It was on sale even, so it was pretty cheap. It worked great this weekend (except for the back of neck on which I forgot to apply it :stinkeye: )

Aveda does make a sunscreen that is pure plant extract plus a mineral.

I have a Trader Joe's near me, I'll have to check theirs out before summer. Does it have a lot of oils in it? I use oil-free sunscreen so I don't break out, especially on my face.

LOL
Just reminded me of something when I saw 'Sunscreen'
Tomorrow I have 3 hours of segments to shoot outside adn one of the tips is to wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun between the hours of 10 am & 4 pm.
GUESS WHAT!?!?!
I have no friken sunscreen and the shoot is from 1-3 pm! I guess I should practice what I preach :(

Some of the online vegan stores, like mine, sell Alba and will ship to Canada. You may have to pay a little for shipping but can get other stuff while you're there.
