Are there any other veg*ns here that have had digestive problems? I've been a vegetarian since October, and you would think my body's gotten used to the change in diet by now, but it's actually only gotten worse. You all are probably going to think "ewww," which is completely understandable, but I'm curious as to who else might have had this problem and how they've treated it. I'm constantly bloated and have excess gas. Is it most likely related to the soy products and vegetables? I take a digestive pill before each meal but the problem continues. I've thought about IBS, but I'm not sure. Anyone else have this problem?

Since the problem continues, I'd see a doctor if I were you. Very possible it's IBS, or maybe some other digestive problem. It might not even be a major problem at all, possibly just your body adjusting to new foods. I guess just consider what different foods you are eating as opposed to before you went veg. If you've had a total change in diet and are eating foods that typically give ppl gas, maybe give it a couple more months. If it's very uncomfortable, it wouldn't hurt to go to the doc to make sure your system is ok. I know when I eat excessive amounts of soy I tend to get gassy (sometimes the cramps can be killer) but it goes away by the next day. It's never been a major prob for me though. Anyway, enough about my gas problems... you might want to make an appt w/your doc just to make sure everythings ok. Wouldn't hurt to do so. GL w/that :)

Might be IBS.
Try adding more fiber rich foods to your diet, especially flaxseeds, prunes, wheatgrass, etc.
For some people, eating too much soy can cause gas and bloating.
