Just curious if anyone uses the Yaoh Nut Milk Maker. I have one of these devices, however, I have still been using my Vita-Mix to make nut milks.

I have one and its wonderful. Why would you use a vitamix instead?

What does it do that an ordinary blender doesn't do? Nut milk is can be made by simply blending water and nuts together in a blender. Takes about 3 minutes at high speed. You need about 50-50 nuts-water, by volume.

I've never tried making it in a blender. I thought you had to buy nut milk bags and strain it.

I have never bought a nut milk bag and I make nut milk all the time. I use a blender or food processor or use raw nut butters and mix it with water or coconut water even for a treat. Often, I don't even strain it (the "pulp" is good for you).

It never even occurred to me to strain nut milk. Ideally, you would get a good nut mill or flour mill and grind nuts (sometimes blanched) to nut butter, then blend with water for just a few seconds. Nut butter will last for years in the fridge. Nut milk will only last for about 5 days. But making nut milk directly from nuts and water is less steps, and less time. You just blend whole nuts, sometimes blanched nuts, with water, in a blender. Takes 2.5 to 3 minutes. This is faster than first making nut butter, then making nut milk from nut butter and water. Nut milk from nut butter and water does have a slightly different color and texture and flavor than nut milk made from nuts and water. I don't have any preference.
