Hello! We're planning on adopting a dog from a shelter or rescue in the near future and I want to feed him/her a healthy vegan diet, possibly homemade, but I'd also like to look at inexpensive ready-to-eat vegan dog food. Any input or brand suggestions?

We haven't decided on the breed yet, but we've found a few dogs that we may consider adopting-a brittany spaniel mix and a poodle mix. Most likely we'll be adopting an older puppy or a dog around a year old. We're just starting research, so does anyone have recommendations for a good, user-friendly book about raising a healthy vegan dog, making the switch, etc?

I just came back from an adoption day at an animal hospital and we're going to be adopting a 5 month old american eskimo dog sometime next week! He's been in a foster home for a month, the people they rescued him from kept him in a small crate in a garage in below freezing weather. :( He's the sweetest puppy ever, I can't wait until next week!
