Awesome about the 22 mile run Captain!
I went to the gym yesterday and did a fair workout with weights and 30 minutes of aerobics. I had to cut it short because I was on a tight schedule and had to take the spouse to the airport.
Today I hope to go to yoga.

Awesome with the run, Captain!!! That's terrific, and good luck with the final prep for the marathon...though you're pretty much a pro by now
Tweety, I love aerobics, it's so much fun :D Too bad I don't get to do it, like, ever.
I've chosen a trail race for the end of the month, so I'm getting all excited. This week, Sunday was 11 miles, Monday was 5 miles, Tuesday was 4, Wednesday was rest, and today I ran 6. Hopefully 8 or 10 tomorrow :)
Hmm, maybe some more hamsters will creep out from hiding ... :hamster:

:nana: I finally have my knee problems conquered! It was my shoe inserts-I bought new ones that were not supportive enough. I went back to my old ones and ran 3.1 miles (I'm training for a 5K on March 26th) with no pain!! My time was atrocious, but it's so nice to be back to running.:pibo: :pibo: :nana:

That's awesome, healthnut  Such a big difference can come from the right footwear! You can definitely conquer that 5k too!!
Ran 8 miles yesterday. I cycled 14 miles today and walked about 2 hours total during the day.

Ok, I said I would wait until Monday, just to make sure my knees are back to normal. Of course I couldn't stay away from the treadmill. I ran for a total of 40 minutes at speed intervals. My jog speed was 5.2, run speed 6.2. I had planned to work gradually up to 6.2 mph, but spent over half the time at that speed.
BTW, I have been dieting over the last 3 months. A woman leaving the gym this morning remembered me from the beach. She said "I have to tell you something. You have lost A LOT of weight." It's so nice when people notice!

Despite my lack of posting, I've been doing pretty well the last couple weeks. Rather than tempt fate and run, I've been taking daily one-hour brisk walks, alternating upper and lower body weights for 20-30 minutes, and finishing up with yoga or pilates.
It's been good. I need to keep it up. :)

40 minutes on the treadmill, 3.8 miles. I was going to just do weights, but I just don't feel right unless I've had a lot of cardio. I could lift weights for two hours, but I could never feel as good as I do after a run.

I feel crappy cause instead of going to the gym like I planned to do my normal 3-mile, I took a nap!!! AGRRG!! *hits self*
So when I woke up I walked for one hour, in which I can cover roughly the same distance, so I figure it's the same amount of calories burned. Can I get away with this?
