Heard that the animal rescue site is not getting enough clicks. Not sure if that is true, but it doesn't hurt to click

I did regularly click these for a while, I should still now really.....

Maybe if once every so often all Vbers on these boards could tell us they've clicked it, as this will I think up the impetus to do so, if we all see each other helping and doing our bit collectively as well
as individually.... The click is entirely free for clickers, hence "free donations" to all clicking on the button....so you are right Thalia it doesn't hurt!! :) and occasionally the sites of similar causes such as Care2.com may even send out thanks as they did me on occasions :) ...so its pretty much cool, that as you will see theres much the same AND MORE thing going on at CARE2.COM "action alerts" too!!! :) CLICK AWAY EVERYBODY!!!!

how do I know the animal rescue site is really giving money to the charities? It says it gives to the north shore animal league and the fund for animals, but neither of those websites mention the animal rescue site. Just curious.

Hell knows Kpickell and I know hell knows is not very conducive, but honestly, all I've been warned of is that www.Care2.com is not entirely angelic in its ways...but whether thats true or not or whether that has to do with the financing or sponsor implications I am unsure,,,, but yeah if I happen to get hold of better insight I will let you know, as & when the heck that insight occurs/comes to light/becomes apparent.. etCetera

Wow I've never heard of the clicking thing before. Thanks for the link, I'll make it a regular ritual. At the best I'll be helping make the world a better place & at worst if it's all a con then I guess I'll look at it as an index finger work-out.

PS: I've emailed the two benefiting charities to ask how much money they recieve monthly from the animal rescue site.

Yes, kpickell, please let us know what you find.
I have a shortcut to the animal rescue site on my desktop. I click on it every day.

Here's the reply that I received from The Fund for Animals.
Dear Ms. Pickell,

Thank you for contacting The Fund for Animals. The Fund receives donations from The Animal Rescue Site, and we use those donations to buy food for the animals at our Black Beauty Ranch animal sanctuary in Texas. It is valuable support for us, and it helps us care for the 1,250 animals at the ranch who were all rescued from abuse or abandonment. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Aashish Bhimani

Does it count if you keep clicking it? I just did it about 10 times in a row.

i think so. if you're registered they keep track of how much you've donated, though i think their counter is down right now. i couldn't remember my user name/password though

Short answer: No.

Long answer:
How many times can I click on the "Feed an Animal in Need" button? Can I just keep clicking and fund hundreds of bowls at once?
You can click once a day on the "Feed an Animal in Need" button on The Animal Rescue Site. Our agreement with our sponsors only allows us to count one click, per person, per calendar day. A monitoring system is set up to check this. While you could click on the button a hundred times, only one click would count. In the meantime, our system would be slowed down, or possibly overloaded, preventing other visitors' clicks from generating funding for care for abandoned animals. Please note that we do count clicks received through company firewalls, proxy servers, etc., to the best of our ability. We make every effort to count every click as fairly and accurately as possible.

One problem:
They're definitely feeding the animals meat. Is it really worth it to end one animals suffering at the cost of anothers, and lose money in the process?
Since dogs are omnivores and cats are carnivores, there should be a way to feed dogs a non-expensive healthy vegetarian diet and cats should be fed less meat and the meat that is fed to them should be "organic" or "free range" or whatever. We really don't make the world a better place by putting more suffering on the cows and less suffering on the pets just because we are emotionally more connected to the pets.

The Breast Cancer Site (http://www.thebreastcancersite.com)
The Rainforest Site (http://www.therainforestsite.com)
The Child Health Site (http://www.thechildhealthsite.com)

Hi,
Their are actully foods for animals that have no meat in them. My Dad found some "healthy" biscuits at a whole foods store for their dog! Plus I do believe that the dry foods are not all made with real meat........hmmm??!! Curious now! I have to go read all my animals food bags!! *wink*

www.theanimalrescuesite.com
I have been clicking every day since I found out about this site. I, of course, also click on all the affiliated sites. I click on all the Care2 and EcologyFund sites also. Recently I found out about another one for Farm Animal Reform Movement at http://veggiedirectory.com/.

I have listed all these animal and environmental links on my site (http://cyberactivist.blogspot.com) in the "Donate for Free" section, hoping I can get other people to do this. I have gotten my mother to go to animalrescuesite and care2, but that's it. I find that it takes very little of my time to do this and if I can help in this way, I am more than glad to do it. Once you are in the habit of doing it every day, it is no problem. I like climbing the levels at care2 and since I referred my mother, I can see her clicks, too. That has been good because I could "remind" her when she started getting lazy. Now she rarely misses a day.

I don't know how many of you go to care2, but a couple of months ago or so, they added a "click." It doesn't donate to anything, but is a "daily action" click. This has been informative and quite good at helping me tread a little lighter on the Earth. For the things that I was already educated about, it is always a good reminder that the little choices we make every day can add up to a lot. Keep clicking!
