Er, I'm bored so I'm making a poll. :)

What do you like to do for exercise?
My favorites are running and biking.

I like running, walking and biking, but since I could only vote for one I chose walking. That's what I'm doing the most of right now anyway.

Duh! Now I see I could have voted for a combo! Can I change my vote? :D

I do pretty much all of these, plus kick-boxing silly dancing whenever I get chance (well, I don't want people watch me monkey around). Budda and me dragon dance sometimes :D

I do yoga almost daily, and I jog three times a week whenever I can.

Although, I voted for a combo of the ones listed, my favorite wasn't listed. Which is step aerobics. I would probably lean toward doing this daily except crosstraining is much better to reduce injury and keep your metabolism high.

For exercise I put running. I love to run its like freedom for me. Martial Arts is what I like to do the best. It started out as exercise but now its very spiritual to me and a lifestyle not exercise. Any exercise I do is to improve my conditioning for Tang Soo Do.(Korean martial art I study) But the Dragon Dance with Freemouse runs right up there with martial arts, very spiritual.:)

I picked combo because I basically do all of those.

I had to pick "not listed" as tap dancing wasn't up there. (How could that not be included?!?!:D)

I do enjoy a good run, though, as well as a good walk.

I bike if I'm out to get excersise. Otherwise, I prefer to play team sports like curling, softball, or tennis.
I used to play ringette in winter, but I don't get around to skating much anymore, which is too bad.

My favorite is cross country skiing but in the summer I do triathlon and mountain biking.

I was just curious, but I consider there to be a difference between jogging and running (and since only running is on the poll...).

Basically what I consider jogging most consider running; what I consider running, many have as sprinting; with what I consider sprinting a tad above most people's idea of sprinting.

Like say on a treadmil: 1-5mph (walking), 5-8mph(jogging), 9/10+ (running - treadmil max). Is running and jogging actually the same thing? Or is my intrepretation right, but people consider them to be the same?

Although I do a fair share of walking/jogging/running. Weather permitting, I do up to 10-20mi walking, 1-2mi jogging, 1mi running a day.

I disagree JLRodgers. To me those numbers dont mean alot. It varies by age and conditioning. Aerobic conditiononing is based on heart rate. Take the number 220 minus your age. Take 60-80% of that number and thats your target to reach and hold for at least a 20 minute workout to get any benefit. Im 50 years old and I ran a 10 miler in under 90 minutes Sat. Thats under 9 minute miles, believe me I was running, not jogging.

Oh, I didn't mean that those were set mph speeds (although that's my general range), just merely that I've always looked at it as jogging and running aren't the same. At a local park my quickest walking is about the same as some's jogging.

I was just wondering if there actually is a difference in jogging and running. Based on your post, I'd say there is!
I wish I could run that much, right now I can only run about 1/6 mi before stopping. Can jog up to 1.25 mi before noticing anything.

i took up jogging last year, FINALLY. this sort of aerobic exercise is great for people who tend to be on the downside of things. (((me))).

oh, and my therapist i was seeing at the time was the one who really i have a lot to owe taking this up to.

i also rollerblade, bike, walk/hike as like asides to an exercise routine. i don't do much weight training. i did take it up in the winter and rotated that and jogging indoors. tried swimming...but i just could not hack it at the time.

i really have an interest in yoga, but i haven't had the time to do anything about it. my interest really is in the stretching/meditating part of it really.

as for a difference between jogging and running. yes, i'd have to say there is. i jog daily for health. i RUN when i am in a race! its just a different way to approach the act of moving. mentality.

I like a combination! I walk, jog, do aerobics tapes, and do yoga. I feel best when I mix them up throughout the week. Walking and jogging are the two I do the most.
