I suppose this is the right forum for this question...
I remember reading once that Herbal Essences shampoos had vegan ingredients, only they were owned by Proctor & Gamble. Can anyone verify this? If I do give in and support the evil P & G, is the shampoo vegan?
I ask because, well, my hair is really freakin greasy. My cute little vegan hemp enriched shampoo just isn't doing the trick with this oily hair...
Or can someone recommend another earth friendly, cruelty free shampoo that actually *works*?

Jason's is what I'm disappointed with. :) I have monstrously oily hair. I'll give Giovanni a go, thanks!

Try rinsing your hair with a vinegar rinse. Use 1 Tbsp vinegar and 4 C water. Do this just before leaving the shower ( of course rinse out the vinegar solution first ). This works great, I do it about every other day, keeps my hair light and un-greased.

I love love love Giovanni! great shampoo .. the Tea Tree variety should work great on greasy hair.
I also make my own hair rinses with water, vinegar, and herbs.

If you have access to a Whole Foods, their brand of shampoo and conditioner are pretty nice, and very reasonably priced!

yeah the TJ's herbal shampoo really dries out my hair, which if your hair is really greasy, would probably be a good thing.
and i do the vinegar rinse thing too, i use apple cider vinegar.

I just read in April's Healthy Times you can wash you hair with a mild dish soap if you want to get rid of grease.

Heh! I could just shave it off, too. That seems easiest. :)

Lately I've been liking the new Avalon Organics line that's out. There are several for different hair types. The one I use, awapuhi-mango, smells like a smoothie.

why do they have to be so expensive??
I guess it teaches us to not be shampoo gluttons. I for one admit the problem.
