Well, they forgot to install a phone line at our new house (how the heck does that happen?) so no internet for a few more weeks at best.
I ran 15 miles last week, a few 5 milers during the week and will do a 20 miler on Sunday. The LA marathon is coming up fast!
Hope everyone is doing well! :hi:

I overdid my lower body workout yesterday and I'm still sore -- to the point that it's painful to walk up and down stairs.
Of course, in some ways that makes me feel good. I've been so lazy lately, I need a kick inthe butt.
Today I did upper body weights for 30 minutes, 200 sit ups of various types, and 30 minutes of yoga. No cardio due to the aforementioned lower body pain.

Did a new full body workout DVD yesterday. Ouch! I am feeling it today. Today: just ab work. Tomorrow: 5 min walk, 30 min run, 5 min walk.
Slowly, my knees are getting better! I've done a couple 30 min. runs with no pain! Going to stick with this for a few more days. I always try to recover too quickly from injuries. :whip:

Good luck with the LA marathon, Captain! You must be really experienced by now...it seems like you constantly have a marathon coming up! :) Which date is that?
Ouch, Mskedi, I know the feeling...overdo it and you can hardly move the next day! Hopefully the pain will subside soon
broccoli, you are being smart by easing your way back into everything. It's good to hear that your knees are healing!

Hi Hamsters,
I guess I'm not the only one that hasn't been around. Where is everyone!
I've been up-north where there is lots of snow. Went cross country skiing for a couple hours. I did this instead of my long run because my knees were giving me a bit of trouble. I've been doing some speed work on my short runs and I unconsciously turn my feet out when I run faster (I'm a bit pigeon toed)which is causing me some knee pain. Now that I know whats causing the problem I should be able to fix it.
Tomorrow is a 12 miler for me out in the cold snowy weather. Should be a pretty run. :D
Captain, that's a bummer....but you must be glad to finally be moved in. You'll have to post some pics when you get your computer working.
Any yes, good luck on the LA!
Mskedi, I feel your pain...like at least once a week. The women who teaches my exercise class likes to pick a muscle group to focus on each week and really works us hard in this area. This week was obliques....it's a good thing I'm not going skiing this weekend.
Broccoli, I'm glad to hear your knees are doing better. I know how hard it is to hold back....I've learned the hard way myself and more than once. Do you ice them after your runs? If not I would highly recomend it.
anna, wow! really puttin' in the milage! Way to go

Heeeeeeey all! I'm a hamster from way back (well, not all the way back, but some of the way, sure...) and now I'm just back. Heh. I don;t know if that made sense. Oh well.
I've been incredibly slack and done nothing today, but shall redeem myself somewhat when I go out for my daily bike ride in a few hours.
*waves to everyone*

I started running 2 years ago, and ran in my first 5k just over a week ago. I put in a very respectable showing. My next one is coming up on March 18th. I am working on speed, doing interval running on the treadmill. Yesterday I set my jogging pace at 6.2 mph, running pace at 7.3 mph. I kept up the running pace for 2 minutes, 3 minutes and 3 minutes out of 30. Then I did a tough Yoga class. Am taking the day off today, back to Spinning tomorrow!
