Hey all !
Well, for my 19th birthday in three weeks my gift (so Ive been told) will be a trip into Toronto to go to a vegan resteraunt; problem is I don't know of any.
Now, I have heard that somewhere there is one called Raw, and while I'm not a raw vegan (and my mother and grandmother -who are both not veg's in the slightest- insist on eating something warm), I'm going to have to pass on that.
So, if anyone could please suggest a place or two (and if you could be so kind as to include contact info.) than it would be very much appreciated.
On a side note, I can't wait until the day I look at a menue knowing that I don't have to interogate the waiter / waitress about their one or two dishes which even still have to be altered to be vegan friendly.
Thanks,
-Colin

The Pulp Kitchen:D
I loved eating there (I think I went like 4 days in a row:P), I'm not sure about the opening/closing times..but they have pretty decent food there.
Even my parents who usually go: 'what are you eating? ewwww ^o)'
liked it.
It's kind of small and can get pretty busy.
But yeah the food is good, you can get tons of different smoothies...one thing though the cheese isn't 100% vegan and aside from soy/rice milk I think they also serve cow's milk (as in when you order hot chocolate/a cappucino etc...they'll ask what you'd prefer)
here's the website so you can see for yourself if you like the menu and stuff:

anyway, hope you'll find a great restaurant and have an awesome birthday!

I really enjoyed Pulp Kitchen.
I also really enjoyed Fresh by Juice for Life (there are three locations- www.juiceforlife.com). Vegetarian Haven is another good one, with a very extensive menu. Google it for the web site.
Bo De Duyen and Cafe 668 are Asian restaurants, which also have web sites. I went to Cafe 668 and liked it.

Oh, all the restaurants I mentioned are at LEAST vegetarian... generally they're vegan but have the option of ordering a piece of cheese for your veggie burger, etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I really like the looks of Vegetarian Heaven; any idea as to the degree of drsscode (are we dealing with your typical casual)?
Thanks,

Many I times when I have been in Toronto I have taken non-veggies to Fressen. I personally think it is great, unless you are in a hurry - it is a "slow food" restaurant. I think it is entirely vegan.

If you like Chinese you can try Bo De Duyen. It is vegan and they have a delicious "duck".
I went to Fressen and didn't like it at all.
Live is supposed to be amazing.
