This morning there was the cutest little skunk I'd ever seen curled up under someone's desk in the meter reading department at my job. How he got in the building no one knows. He had the most perfect small brown eyes. I just wanted to pick him up and hold him.
Basically we had to call animal control. They just left a cage with cat food in it to lore him. They made everyone leave the room and a few hours later he was inside the cage eating the cat food. They returned and released him into the local national park.
The entire time he was there he never sprayed anyone. He looked kind of little, so maybe their scent gland is not developed until adulthood. I read what Wikipedia had to say... which wasn't too in depth. It did say that it IS legal to have a skunk as a pet in certain US states. Then it didn't list them. If my state was listed, I probably would have taken him home. He was so adorable. :nigel: :smitten:
This isn't "him" but to give you an idea: http://www.fcps.k12.va.us/StratfordLandingES/Ecology/mpages/striped_skunk.htm
Do you know anyone who keeps a skunk as a companion?
