I think it's no suprise to any of us that eating red meat causes cancer.
What surprises me in this new study that they speak of on the BBC web-site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4662934.stm
is the following sentence:
Last year the Dunn team published a study suggesting the chance of developing the disease was a third higher for people who regularly ate more than two portions per day of cooked red meat compared with those who ate less than one portion per week.
Who in their right mind eats TWO PORTIONS of red meat a day??? Where on earth did they find people who eat in such a manner???
And secondly, they compare two extremes. If I were a red-meat eater (god forbid), I would probably scoff at a study like this that only takes two extremes in order to come to its conclusion.
But still, I'm puzzled. Who eats TWO PORTIONS OF RED MEAT a day???? 99% of the people I know are omnivores, but none of them would eat like this.
