Thank you to George Clooney, antiwar
activist and producer
of Syriana, for including vegetarian
and not pig bacon in his movie
and for having only vegetarian food..
also for having no gratuitous sex scenes

(Parents should not the torture scene is graphic)

(but please, courageous Mr Clooney,
no vehicles driving over fragile
desert plants)

Is this a Thank you note to George Clooney? If so, I don't think he will read it.

ETA: (bah, I forgot this link IAJ, she might be referring to this snippet???)

I think that what he was driving to was slightly more important. :)

Good movie. Loved the soy bacon scene. Cute kids even though they want to eat "pig bacon".

Hey, the kids just did not know that there is a better way that is all.

So, is George Clooney a vegetarian?

BTW, I loved the movie.

So, is George Clooney a vegetarian?

Don't really know; did a quick check on Google, first ten matches seemed to indicate the answer is no.

BTW, guess what the first match was?

Well I know Matt Damon is not a vegetarian...(despite the scene in this movie). And I don't think George Clooney is either, but I'm not a fan of his acting, so I don't really follow him very closely.

It's interesting to me because Clooney was noted for having a pot-belly pig for a pet at one point.

XX22..I'm still not sure what you mean. The scene SDG describes was actually kind of poking fun at vegetarianism (albeit in a fairly gentle way). I don't think the food represented was "all vegetarian" either? As for the sex scenes, I remember a bit of flesh at times, but that's not a big concern on my list. :)

Clooney still has the pig (Max). Random rumors of Max's death sprout yearly. But he's quite old now, around 16 I think, was accidentally run over by one of Clooney's friends a few years ago and recovered nicely.

As for the sex scenes, I remember a bit of flesh at times, but that's not a big concern on my list. :)I don't think there were any sex scenes in Syriana. I didn't remember for sure so I went to kids-in-mind.com and their review of Syriana lists this for Sex/Nudity: "A man is bare-chested during a torture scene. Women wear low-cut dresses that reveal cleavage in a few scenes."

I do agree though that the movie wasn't active in promoting vegetarianism. One scene with a joke about soy bacon tasting gross isn't particularly important.

Yeah...I was thinking of a couple of scenes with the younger brother and one with Clooney near the beginning of the film. I remember lots of skin, but I really don't remember what happened. It's not a big issue for me (sex scenes in film), so unless they are particularly wonderful (say, the back of the limo in No Way Out) or particularly distasteful (the stairs in History of Violence), they're likely to fade from my memory. :D

actually, i thought that scene hurt veg*anism. the whole message of that scene was that non-pig bacon was gross and that they would all rather eat the real deal. at least that's what i got from it.
