I have nearly constant muscular and joint aches and stiffness. I get lots of various exercise, of the physical labor sort (digging, carrying, sawing, etc). But when I sit for any length of time (like now in front of the computer) when I get up I am extremely stiff and sore. Most of my exercise is rather slow, not jerky nor extremely strenuous (sometimes is, though). Is this just age? Or is there something I could do to relieve these aches and stiffness (besides taking aspirin)?

I'm thinking you could add some stretching and/or yoga to your life to increase your flexibility.
After I had surgery a few years ago, I noticed I was really stiff in the morning or when I sat for a period of time. My MIL told me to keep my feet moving, like wiggle the toes, rotate the foot from the ankle, extended and bend back the foot toward the leg, etc. It did help a lot. Perhaps you could try that when you are sitting and also some arm, hand, and neck stretches.
As we get older, I think we need to keep flexible or we'll lose it. (I don't know how old you are, that statement was a pep talk to myself.)
Thank you, you're probably right.

Any chance of having contracted Lyme disease? That'll make you achey all over...
I suppose there is a very slight chance, as we have ticks around here, but I don't know if they carry Lyme disease...
I have some relatives who swear by omega-3 capsules to relieve all aches and pains.

this may be off-base, but are you getting enough dietary fat? fat cushions things and if you aren't getting enough of it.... yeah.
Oh goodness, I'm pretty darn sure I get enough fat! Too much I'm afraid...
I'll try upping the omega-3, which I should do anyway, I'm just so bad at remembering to take supplements.

Yea I've been getting sore joints recently, and increased my omega-3 intake, seems to be working!
