The ACLU of Georgia released copies of government files on Wednesday that illustrate the extent to which the FBI, the DeKalb County Division of Homeland Security and other government agencies have gone to compile information on Georgians suspected of being threats simply for expressing controversial opinions.

Stop spying on us! www.aclu.org

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was something from The Onion. Unfortunately, I opened the thread and then the link.

Damn.

"Sigh" is right.

The ACLU are the "good guys" in this case. They are the ones who are bringing attention to the surveillance.

You should thank your parents. :)

In the U.S., if you are a threat to business, then you are a threat to the government.

Thank you, Helen Keller for helping found the ACLU.
Thank you, ACLU for still fighting.
And thank you, George Orwell, for making me one of the most paranoid people ever.

I heard about this on the talk radio station I listen to (www.airamerica.com) and I nearly shot oj out of my nose. FEAR THE VEGANS!

I wonder if most people know that Helen Keller was a raging socialist. Would she still be considered a hero if more people knew?

Could you clarify what made Helen Keller a 'raging' socialist as opposed to just an ordinary socialist?

There were millions and millions and millions of Socialists and Communists in the world in the early 1900s.

One has to look at the political context of the day.

There are still millions today - not so many Communists as before, but millions of socialists. They certainly don't mind that she was one.

We're not blindly following along with everything they say.

We're not drinking the milk that is pumped full of hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, etc...

They can't control us.

I am saden by this news. I mean it would be rather unfortate thatt the government would disregard the fact that I work for the USN, and would monitor my movements not because of possilb efailure to do my duties, but because I am a vegan and advise others to do the same. It really is shameful. Hmmm... Evil men will wax worse and worse. While I usally do not support the ACLU, I am glad that they supported this case.
