That I have been meat free. Yay for me. I'm excited.
And the craving for meat is slowly going away...as somebody observed for me, I have found that I'm not necessarilly craving the meat, but rather the breading or how the meat is cooked. That's a profound insight for me!
Thanks for supporting this.

Way to go! I'm nearing my one month mark this time. Its true about craving the things that go with meat, not necessarily the meat itself. Knowing that makes it easier to get through the tough times.

Also be aware that some cravings come from needing something in the food and not necessarily the food itself. For instance, if you crave spinach your body may be needing iron.
And there really are veg replacements to just about anything you'd be used to eating. As time goes by you'll learn what they are. The one thing I'd craved since going vegetarian was tuna. Well a few months ago (over 8 years after I became vegetarian) I found a recipe for mock tuna and it tastes fantastic.
So it's a learning process, it really will get easier! Congrats! :)
Congrats! I also found that I don't miss the meat exactly, but the seasonings or the breading. Ex: I was craving some honey-bbq wings, but, realized it was the bbq sauce that I really wanted----so, I made bbq tofu and it was YUMMY!!!!

Also, Gardenburger makes some AMAZING vegan riblets, so try those! I ate about 10 boxes of them in a month!

Unless you have a link that can prove me wrong, I am certain this is a myth. There is little correlation between what we are craving and what our body needs. Everytime someone craves sugar do you think they need that sugar from a health standpoint? Many people crave cheese, usually because it is loaded with saturated fats that most people find taste great. It isn't because they are low on calcium or protein.
