I have been a vegetarian for 1-2 years now. But, I am not eating soy burgers or anything like that. I just can't... it looks so much like meat and probably tastes like it and now I just cant even try to eat it even though it is not the real thing.... I just can't get it across my mind that it is not real. Has anyone else had this problem before?

yes! Although I can stomach the actual veggie burger's not the boca, my husband has brought home several analogs that are just too realistic. Since I don't like meat (not just don't want to eat animals, but seriously don't like it, don't miss it, don't want it.) We just don't buy those things. They're so processed anyway, you can do without em! Tofu is great and there is so much you can do with it. If you need more ideas, check out the recipe section or just ask! There seem to be alot of nice people here wanting to help.

Yes!!!!! Forget about anything that looks and tastes like pork and beef. Never liked it when I was an omni. The only fake meat I will buy is the morningstar farms chicken and that still grosses me out from time to time. Maybe two months or so that I have eaten that.

No boca here either. Picky on the veggie burgers also.:stinkeye:

I eat it when my parents make them for me because it is the only vegetarian thing they know about that is quick and easy for when we all eat together on Sunday afternoons. I am grateful that they try and are willing to support me so the least I can do is eat what they put the thought into.

I cant stomach the super firm tofu. When marinated and pan-fried, it resembles ham way too much for me.

I stick with the lite firm and silken soy. Some boca products are too "real" for me, such as the corn dogs and chicken nuggets, but Ill eat them if there is nothing else.

One time, my grandma bought me "veggie ribs." I definitely couldn't stomach that. Why would I want to eat something that looks like the body part of an animal? Ick.

On the other hand, I do eat tofurky. Yummm.:bobo:

I am disgusted by the idea of eating meat, so the fake meats don’t even appeal to me at all.

But I have eaten the commercial veggie patties, and some of them were OK, and didn’t resemble meat at all. But I prefer to make my own instead. They are much tastier and there are so many different varieties I can create.

The veggie riblets! ACK! Those were too too real. Of all the things I've tried, those were the worst!

I'll be the weirdo. I eat meat analogs on occasion. Why? Because I like meat. I choose to abstain from eating it for moral, ethical and health concerns. But i like it.

So I will eat analogs becasue it tastes enough like meat that I get my "fix" without having to cause or contribute to animal suffering.

Ok, I am glad I am not alone on that. I was thinking I was like the only one that couldn't eat them

Well, since I've only been at this for 2 weeks, I think the fake meat products creep me out because it's weird for me to eat something that looks and tastes like chicken...but it's not. :stinkeye:

I will eat them though, but really only if I just can't find anything else to eat. I never really liked chicken nuggets to begin with lol, so they certainly don't appeal to me in soy form.
