Does anyone know if cancer research U.K test on animals, or support animal testing? I was thinking of running the 5k race for life ( which they organise) and i'd rather not run for a charity that's involved in animal testing. I've googled but couldnt really come up with anything.
All cancer research organisations support animal testing.

Argh the british heart foundation also fund animal testing, so much for that 10k then. Thanks for the link and information :)
I seem to recall that there is a yearly run you can do for the Care for the Wild Organisation (their website is down at the moment unfortunately): http://www.careforthewild.org/
But I may be wrong. They do good work for animals.
Just a note! Not all cancer charities are involved in vivisection. Visit www.humaneseal.org for a list of health charities which never fund animal experiments. You may consider giving to one of these humane health charities instead of participating in this particular fundraiser.
I'm not all that bothered about the whole fundraising part of things to be honest, though i guess if i'm running a race i may aswell do it for a reason. I was just looking at events in my area and it seems nearly all of the few limitied options of distances i'm willing and able to train for are organised by the above charities. But hmmm thinking about it, just because they're the organisers does it mean you actually have to fundraise for them?

I used to live in UK & I remember the cancer research shops in the high streets. What a waste of time, they were always full of second hand clothes & run by 2 chatty old ladies. I never saw any cancer research going on in those shops!

Just to check seeing as my humour detectors arent on today - that was a joke right? You do understand the concept of charity shops.
