It seems along with the makeover we have a new search function as well, and it doesn't have the Advanced Member Search function anymore! I know, you can still go to Advanced Search and search for posts or threads by a certain member, but I liked being able to pull up that person's profile straightaway! *bitch, whine, gripe, grumble*

I'm unsure what is different -- it seems the same to me.

When I click someone's avatar, I can go to their profile, view other posts, etc.

The advanced search is available in the drop-down menu under the search button...

There used to be an option for advanced member search where you could search for a profile without actually having to find a post by the person. The advanced search now only allows you to find posts and threads by a memeber so it's a few extra steps to get to a profile.

I'm having some other problems. Like, when I click on the 2 or 3 for the next page, I have to sign in all over again! What's up with that?

If you're taking a long time reading page 1, it might be logging you out automatically. it seems to log me out after a certain amount of inactivity now. I'm getting very tired of signing back in.

It's one step. Click my avatar, and you can choose from the drop-down menu to go straight to my profile.

Unless for some reason that doesn't work with your browser, though I haven't noticed a problem using different browsers myself.

You can set your options so that you never get logged out. I can't even remember the last time I had to enter in my password for VB. Of course, if you share a computer this might not be the best choice.

How, please? This is a new thing for me. for months, this never happened. Then about 2 days ago, I was suddenly getting logged off. I looked in the User CP and couldn't find a setting.

Are you clicking - member list and then the search members drop-down menu? I still see it, that shouldn't have changed.

I'm not seeing how the search is different either. :confused: I click on the Member Search and it gives me a search window with "advanced member search" listed below, which is the same as what I had before.

Also, re, the getting logged out...

When you log in, are you checking the box that says "remember me"?

Is your browser set to accept cookies?

Are you using any kind of firewall software?

Oh! When I go to the Member List, I can do it. I used to do it from the Search box on the regular window.

No, I don't have it set to remember me, but I haven't changed any of my settings, and it's suddenly logging me out when it didn't before. I'll have to check my cookie settings.

Also, before if I posted a quick reply, then hit new posts, my post would be there. Now that does't happen. And, sometimes the box for quick reply isn't even there! Agghhhh. I'm too old for this!!!!!

I don't feel like starting a new topic, but I have a question... Didn't there used to be a way to find all "unanswered threads"? If that option is still there, can someone point it out to me again.
