Okay, so after about a 4 month break, I decided that I am going to begin weightlifting again--every other day, not just sporadically whenever I'm bored. (I used to lift every other day during the summer) Yeah...I kind of realized that I am about the same weight as I was in the FOURTH GRADE--not good... (I was overweight then though...long long long story) I mean...it's my weight is fine for my height (my bmi's somewhere between 19 and 21), but I go to the doctors next month, and she hasn't seen me since 4th grade...so yeah...
My question is: my entire life I almost have NEVER been sore from any type of sport--not even skiing dblacks, running in the snow or insane lifting classes. Everyone says I SHOULD be sore, but I'm not. I don't know what I'm lifting now (cuz I'm using my AWESOME RESISTANCE BANDS!!! WOOHOO!!!) but during the summer it was about 25 lbs. for arm curls.
So... basically... anyone have this problem? Should I increase reps/weight or something? I'm sore for like, 15 min. after I "lift".
Thanks!!!

Soreness can be a result of lactic acid in your muscles that occurs when you push into your anaerobic level. Usually this dissipates a short time after your workout is complete. You don't need to be sore to have had a good workout. However, most people are a little sore when they resume exercising after a long time of not working out.

Soreness means you are working hard.

A little bit of mild soreness is nothing to worry about at all. If you were so sore you couldn't get out of bed, I would suggest that you chill out a little! Some soreness or that tired, heavy feeling (I get that after lifting) is nothing to worry about IMO.

I never get sore, pretty much no matter how hard I've worked out - so long as I've been working out as a habit for a while. If I've had a layoff because of illness, time constraints, whatever - a layoff that lasts at least a month - then I can expect to be sore even if I haven't worked out very hard.

I only get sore muscles if I don't stretch properly after working out.

Drink a lot of water after a workout. It can help flush lactic acid from your muscles, and you won't get as sore then.

I'm in a similar situation. I had been exercising regularly for about 6 months when I suddenly stopped (for a ton of reasons) about two months ago. Now I'm trying to get back to my routine, but I get sore for a day when I weight train. It's only been a few times now, so I'm sure it will disappear in two weeks or so.

1 word
GLUTAMINE
take 2 teaspoons after workout with water. It helps with muscle recovery and is the most abundant amino acid in the body and amino acid synthesis.

You sound fine to me. I only get sore if I suddenly do a different work out (using different muscles), or don't stretch properly.
You ARE stretching, right? I see so many weightlifters not stretching at all, and I wonder how sore they get.
