They are out there. I guess I am one of them, but as skylark has said, I too am working on myself right now. If a beautiful, nerdy, vegetarian, passionate, awesome girl fell into my lap I would be ecstatic.
But as it is I am the only vegan in a small town where every girl I meet loves to go :nigel: :gun: hunting and fishing so I will be single for a long time.

aw vegmedic:hug:
how annoying.coming from a big city i can't imagine what thats like. i have a serious problem with clones here, but i hadn't thought of small town likelihood. i actually figured ( i dont know why...so dont bag me out...) that in a small town, the people as listed above would be MORE prevelent. perhaps coz i always picture small towns being so friendly and real and focussed on the good things. as apposed to my big yuckie yuppie driven city?and besides.. surely when she met you, your..vego passion would take over her urge to use :gun: and she'd be very pro-:nigel: ???
..sorry...i just like using the pictures

(continued rambling train of thought :stinkeye: ...) this is why i always thought i was born in the wrong city. coz i was meaaaaaaaant to be part of a friend small town(or maybe a farm) and read wonderful books in old chairs and play in snow and all the images that come with it.
perhaps..this is naive.... :hamster: but thats ok ! ehehehe. im still gonna do it someday coz i sure dont like it here...., i go out and stuff but its allll fake. sigh. and usually after a 'night on the town' come back so disheartened with the way society is going that its much better to just make up excuses and stay in my lovely house!..which is beginning to feel like a small town itself!we live in the city center but its like this little haven, we're a little self sufficient..chickens for eggs and what not and we have so many people living here..all the kind of people who would live in my town:hamster: ...oh twould be suuuch a happy town .....*drifts off into a town-ish daydream*

Taurushead – I understand what you are saying, cause that is why I moved to my small town in the first place. I am here to live my dream. Small town, want to build a small eco-house, grow my own vegetables, enjoy the clean air, see the stars, walk to work. This place is amazing for its hiking (try to avoid being shot), wildlife (the animals that have not yet been shot), kayaking, canoeing, snow shoeing etc. If you go out the bar most people are in jeans and T-shirts.
I spent a couple years living a big city (Toronto) and tired of the city life (and the fakeness) pretty quickly.
There are a couple environmentalists living here, but most of them are a little older, part of the back to the land movement in the 70’s. Maybe people my age have not yet decided to leave the cities for the charm of the small towns. There were actually two vegan girls living in this town when I arrived. Both were in long time relationships with omnis. They have both since left town and neither is vegan anymore (they both said it was too hard when you are living with a meat eater). I guess that is the way it goes.
I have never been that comfortable with the idea of relationships converting people to a more compassionate veggie lifestyle. I don’t know why, cause I know people can change when they have their eyes opened. When I was younger I was a jock who couldn’t have cared less about anything. Then the small town where I grew up began a fight against a large city which was trying to force their garbage and waste upon us. That slowly got the ball rolling for me. I started caring about the environment, got involved and have never looked back (and later had my passion for animals reawakened in me.)
But unfortunately it is not simply a veggie issue. I just don’t understand the girls here. You wrote about – reading wonderful books in old chairs and playing in the snow – which is what I am all about. I read constantly (again odd for a former jock who never read a book until after high school) and love to learn things. If I am not working or reading I am usually outside doing something fun. But I honestly rarely meet girls here who do anything more than watch tv (not that the guys are any different they play video games). :wall: Seeing as I don't have a tv on the couple dates I have gone on conversations were at times like pulling teeth.
I think what I wrote sounds kind of depressing. Don’t get me wrong I am quite happy and have plenty of things to keep me busy. I will just keep waiting for someone who is intelligent, with a zest of life and beautiful on the inside.

:lovesign: good golly...your like...me, in boy-form! its really...really quite creepy reading what someone else writes and having it be like a page out of your head.
but like..not only the thoughts, right down to the jock bit. wait...can jocks be girls?? i dont know. is there a different word? schmeh. irrelevant. but yeah, i was a gymnast, so into that crowd and that scene and while i used to be who i am when i was little, it sorta got sucked outta me (which is why the city scares me....so many people are like this, and it just gets sucked outta them, you know?? i dont wanna stay here forever and end up like that. ) if that makes sense, and i stopped reading and writing and loving the simple things (omigod...hiking...LOVE hiking. its not bad round here for that once you get out into the hills but that is soooo far away. plus doing it on your own sucks a bit, i dragged a few exes (the girls never come, something about hair...and wind...or having to be somewhere else) out there and they hated it. the star watching appealed to a few, but you cant even SEE the stars here from the city lights. ) and started going out and doing that kind of thing but it just leaves you hollow. and frustrated at the people... :wall: oi vey.
and then i kind of forgot...what EEEEYE actually liked and just started figuring i was this person who would just fake her way through life and have a semi-ok time (dont get me wrong, it can be fun. but just not in that warm fuzzy 'i LOVE this' way which im a huge fan of. aren't we all?? :D ) but never be totally happy. then something made me remember (long story) and i just stopped with all that, and the ridiculous joy that goes with living the life you want is back. but im definetely ..definetely moving.
by the by, im so glad that you 'understand what im sayin'...i thought it sounded a little nuts....yay!
and i totally feel you on the it not just being a veggie issue, its like...its...i dont know. i can't explain (especially with housemates music, although good music, up so loud. teehee). but I think you know what i mean!! which is so cool?!
and yay, i also second the learning thing. gotten really partial to the internet mainly coz its so darn easy to look up random fascinating things. and a few years back I taught myself french (well, started teaching myself but then after a while sought out a friend who speaks it fluently and that enhanced the whole thing..ehehe. then WENT to France...) and am constantly looking for ..i dont know...stuff to learn. Stuff to find out and get immersed in and make everything even more incredible.
Coz dont get me wrong, im not like...this ragefilled hermit or anything, I love life. I love stuff. I love..everything. As I said, get ridiculously happy at so many small things. so its all good. just biding my time, I guess..
and for the record, finally stopped watching over the top of a book as friends played video games (since you mentioned it) and tried this one about shooting and gangs? something about a city. I forget. And there are like..stars for how many police are onto you? And you steal cars? I don't know what its called but I know its a hot one right now. Its pretty impressive, technologywise when you look back on those old computer games with the balls and paddles and weird space shooter things..but apart from that wasn't really that fun.
firstly I couldn't control the damn person. Everytime the screen swivelled with his view point I lost my barings ..ehehe. And secondly, I don't really..see the point. Maybe its just this particular game that seems to have no aim...maybe there are better ones, but it seemed pretty stupid to me. Not to mention I really (sorry to sound preachy...who knew you could get so ..well, yeah, preachy...by twentyone??!!) dont know if having the hottest game on the market being about a 'hero' stealing cars and running from police, is the wisest thing for our troubled youths...
but yes. I forgot what point I was making now. But I hope I made it? eheheh.
I'm with my BEAUTIFULLY NERDY VEGETARIAN PASSIONATE AWESOME GIRL of course :smitten:
