:stinkeye:
It doesn't look real, looks like a photoshop job. Also I had to look after some newborns as their mum died. Their eyes weren't open. This cat only lived to one day, so its eye shouldn't be open.

Snopes.com says it's true: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/cyclopes.asp
As for the eye being open, it wouldn't be odd in this case considering the congenital defects this kitten had.

WOW! I kind thought my cat with an extra nipple was strange.

That reminds me of Image, the two-faced kitten. It was born with two almost completely formed faces on one head. Separate mouths and nsaal canals, but only one esophagus. It only lived a couple of weeks. The mother had a history of birth defects.

There are a couple of links at the bottom of the snopes page - if you go to the second one there are all sorts of pictures of cats with congenital deformities - some with four ears! Not for the faint-hearted.
Tess, that kitten, image, is on there too

But it looks so fake. God needs to do a better job designing his mutant freaks if he wants me to believe that his work isn't just photoshopped

Well, if God photoshopped his own work, then that's a different story. :D
Allen said she's keeping the cat's corpse in her freezer for now, in case scientists would like it for research.
Oh ick. :spew:
She said one thing's for certain: "I'm not going to put it on eBay."

The picture of the kitten could be real. There is some problems with the thought process that since a normal kitten was born with its eyes closed that this picture must be a fake because its eye is open. That is flawed logic. If this picture is real it assumes that the kitten was born with significant birth defects, some of which may include being born without eyelids.
Normal people are born with only five fingers on each hand, so it is illogical to say that since occasional babies are born with six fingers, that a picture of a six fingered baby is a fake because everyone knows normal babies have six fingers.

From Snoops:
(Eyelids are also generally absent in such births, which explains why the eye of the one-day-old kitten pictured above is open even though cats are usually born with their eyes shut and remain in that condition for the first week or two of their lives.)
