I have not been posting because I have been caring for my seriously ill dog. I got a bag of the contaminated food  and enticed her to eat when her appetite waned. She is on the mend now and should be fine.

Check this link AND check the back of your dog food bag. Look for processed or manufactured by diamond pet foods or diamond pet. I would error on the side of caution and immediately stop feeding any dry food to your dog or cat that carries this company's name or logo. Their food is repackaged under many names not just the ones on the FDA's website. The bag of dog food that was contaminated was a Kirkland Signature bag of food from Costco.

I'm really sorry about your dog, It sounds like she wil be OK. Diamond has offered to pay vet bills for animals affected by the alphatoxin so get in touch with them. Reporting it will help to further the investigation too. So far I have not seen any recalled brands listed that included Kirkland so please let them know.

I just heard about the recall and came here to post the article I read to warn everybody. Please take a look at your dog and cat food no matter what country you live in and make sure you aren't using any of the recalled product.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10771943/

"COLUMBIA, S.C. - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports that at least 76 dogs nationwide are believed to have died as a result of eating contaminated Diamond Pet Foods.

The company has recalled 19 varieties of dog and cat food because tests showed high levels of aflatoxin, a naturally occurring toxic chemical that comes from a fungus found on corn and other grains that causes severe liver damage in animals......

FDA also has discovered that some of the recalled product was exported to at least 29 countries, including countries within the European Union. These countries have been notified......

It takes such a small amount, and there’s pretty much nothing you can do with the process that will inactivate that toxin once it gets in the food supply..."
