My mom has become unresponsive, won't drink, won't eat, and all bodily functions seem to be coming to an end. I feel bad because she is going and bad because she has stayed this long in that condition. I am coming apart at the seams little by little and now is not a time I can afford to do that. Keep me strong, friends. These next few days should be the end. Pray for a quik and peaceful passing. She has suffered so very much. Pray especially for my father. They have been married 63 years and have not been apart except when he was drafted. Oh, God. I wish I were someone else today.

This sounds like a really hard time for you and your family. I will be thinking of you and your family. I wish you the ability to do what you absolutely need to do, but don't feel as if you need to be a superwoman. It's ok to be sad, or even crazy in these situations. It's ok to ask friends for help, it's ok to tell people you just have to lose it for a while so someone else will have to take over. I'm sure what ever happens you will be a great daughter to your mother and father in their times of need and they will be thankful for your presence and help and comfort however stressed out you feel.

Just checking in with you. Mom is still with us, but the hospice nurse says any time now and no more than 3 or 4 days at the most.

I so appreciate your love and kind thoughts. Your shared strength and prayers are working. I am hanging together relatively well and so is my poor little Daddy. My sister has come in from Texas and is being a blessing. My boys are resigned, but oddly enough, my husband is taking it hard.
