I think the most challenging thing for me is the fact that i hate fruit and seeds, wheat. Does this leave much options for me as i have become vegan? I still have so much to learn but it seems to me like a huge road block, but i am commited to this new diet for myself and would love any feedback and/or advise.

I'm no expert, still in the learning phase myself, but I would think no fruit is ok if you can manage lots of veggies. And as far as bread goes, will you at least eat pasta, (preferably whole wheat) and cereals?

Bread and pasta are not a necessary part of your diet, but whole grains are important. They provide fiber as well as necessary amino acids. Do you like brown rice? There are many options out there such as oats, kasha, millet, and of course, quinoa which is a complete protein. You can eat whole wheat pasta, but make sure not to make that the focus of your diet. Try to make it as varied as possible.

Thanks. What i think i will do in that case is have oats for breakfast and yes brown rice would be good. Whats helpful is that i like tofu if i spice it up right, but im guessing that dosnt have everything i need to make up for no meat or dairy? I obviously need to read up more beacuse i dont know what millet or quinoa is...imbaressing):

I actually don't eat them, I do like rice in my stir fries and I do like pasta.
I have been eating whole grain waffles for breakfast as of late and I only eat whole grain breads.

What kinds of fruit have you been eating? There are a lot of foods that I thought I didn't like but then realized that my family had always prepared them in a bad way or hadn't been buying a good kind, etc. For example, was it fresh or in a can? In season? (where do you live), ripe? Some people will give people fruit that is very under ripe in my opinion. I have a preference for much riper fruit.

How about fruit in part of a dish, like mango in a thai dish? Or raisins or other dried fruit?

You have a really great point. I am currently in israel but about to move back to washington dc in 8 days. Its not that easy to get much good food of any kind in the area i am in at the moment. Mango is one fruit i do like, but other fruit here just dosnt do it for me. raisins in oatmeal is good too, but i havnt enjoyed an apple since my last visit to america. Im soo looking forward to returning,so many more options foodwise.
