i was reading in my rabbit book the other day that rabbits need mineral stones,i hadn't bothered gettng Hugo one because none of my other rabbits/hamsters/guinea pigs have ever used them.so anyway, i was in the pet shop this morning and decided to pick one up for him, just incase.
i put it in his hutch and went to change his water...but when i got back the mineral stone had gone, and Hugo was covered in pink dust (the colour of the stone)there was a pile of pink dust on the floor, but apart from that, it had vanished!
i assuming he ate it, but i was gone less that 5 minutes...so i have a mystery on my hands...any ideas why he ate it so fast? it was grape flavour, so maybe he just liked the taste? also, could it do him any damage? i hope he hasn't OD on minerals

hmmm...clearly everybody here is as clueless as i am :|
well Hugo hasn't shown any ill affects after his mineral munching session, so i'm happy to abandon my investigation.

that is very strange, but if you're giving him a good, balanced pellet and fresh greens everyday, he shouldn't need a mineral block.

his diet is very good, so i'll forget the mineral block from now on! - thanks Ynaffit
